The countdown to September is on, and there has been lots of activity around school since our last summer update. From classroom refreshes and new displays to organising resources and preparing learning areas, our team has been working hard to create inspiring spaces for our pupils.

Some classrooms are already taking shape beautifully and are almost ready for the new academic year, while work continues across the rest of the school. Every day brings us one step closer to welcoming everyone back for another year of learning, discovery and achievement.

We hope everyone is continuing to enjoy a fun, relaxing and well-deserved summer holiday, and we look forward to seeing you all again in September.

Although our school may be a little quieter during the summer holidays, there's still plenty happening behind the scenes!

Our staff have been busy clearing classrooms, organising resources, preparing displays and giving our learning spaces a fresh start, ready for the new academic year.

There's still lots to do over the coming weeks, but we're already looking forward to welcoming our wonderful pupils back in September. We can't wait to see our classrooms transformed into exciting, inspiring spaces for learning and to begin another fantastic year together.

Until then, we hope everyone is enjoying a happy, safe and restful summer holiday!

We are so proud of our amazing Voles Class, who raised an incredible £1,000 for SNUG through their sponsored walk!

Their kindness, determination and enthusiasm have made a real difference to a charity that means so much to members of our school community.

What a fantastic way to celebrate the end of an unforgettable journey! Our Year 6 leavers gave a truly brilliant performance, showcasing the confidence, resilience, and talents they have developed throughout their time at West Croft.

Every pupil should be incredibly proud of what they achieved on stage. Their enthusiasm, teamwork, and determination shone through from beginning to end, making it a performance to remember.

A huge thank you to our amazing staff, whose dedication, encouragement, and hard work helped make the evening such a success. We would also like to thank all of our parents and families for their continued support over the years – your partnership has played such an important part in every child's journey.

Congratulations to Dormice Class for winning the Summer Term Attendance Award!

To celebrate their fantastic achievement of coming to school every day, the children were rewarded with an epic water fight! There were plenty of laughs, lots of splashing, and everyone had an amazing time.

What a wonderful performance from our Year 5 children!

Over the past few weeks, they have immersed themselves in the world of A Midsummer Night's Dream, exploring Shakespeare's characters, language, and timeless storytelling. Through hard work, determination, and teamwork, they brought the play to life with confidence and enthusiasm.

Their performance was a fantastic reflection of everything they have learned and the effort they have put into every rehearsal. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them for embracing the challenge and putting on such an entertaining and memorable show.

Our Year 3 children gave a fantastic performance of Where's My Mummy? last week!

They have worked so hard over the past few weeks, learning their lines, practising the songs, and bringing the story to life with confidence, enthusiasm, and plenty of smiles. Their dedication and teamwork really shone through, making it a performance to remember.

What an unbelievable day of football for our incredible Year 6 team at the North Devon Finals in Barnstaple.

The tournament truly had it all, dramatic last-minute goals, spectacular saves, and heroic tackles and that was just in the group stages. After a superb run through the Bideford qualifiers and today's finals, our journey came to an end in a dramatic penalty shootout in the semi finals.

While penalties are always a tough way to finish, we are incredibly proud of the boys to finish as the 4th best team out of all the North Devon Schools.

What a fantastic afternoon at our KS1 and Lower KS2 Sports Day!

The children had lots of fun taking part in the races and activities. They showed great determination, cheered each other on, and tried their very best throughout the afternoon. We are so proud of every single one of them!

A big thank you to all the parents and carers who came along to support and encourage the children. Your support made the day even more special.

Well done to all of our children. You were amazing!
