Autumn Term Parents Evening
A huge thank you to our wonderful families!
We were delighted to welcome 87 families to our Autumn Term Parents’ Evening. Your time and support mean so much to us.
Parents’ Evenings are a special part of Early Years, they give us the chance to celebrate each child’s progress, share their achievements, and plan together for the next steps in their learning journey.
Strong parent partnerships are at the heart of everything we do. When home and nursery work hand in hand, children feel confident, valued, and ready to thrive.

✨💡Light Up our Learning 💡✨

We’ve been enjoying lots of glow activities throughout the nursery, creating exciting multi-sensory experiences for all ages!

From exploring glowing objects and colourful lights to investigating different textures, there’s so much to see, touch and discover.

Why is sensory and light play so important?

🍂 September at Happy Hours 🍂

What a wonderful and very busy, September we have had!

This month, we have been exploring our “All About Me” topic, giving our children lots of opportunities to discover, express and celebrate what makes them unique.

We have created some beautiful self-portraits, experimenting with lots of different materials and methods, from paint and playdough to wonderful pieces of transient art.
We have talked about, explored and experienced a whole range of emotions and feelings, developing our understanding of ourselves and the people around us.

As the seasons begin to change, we have been getting out and about in our local environment, noticing flowers, enjoying trips to the park, visiting the library and exploring our local shops.

We have also seen lots of success in our Ten Town sessions and phonics learning, with our children building confidence, developing new skills and enjoying learning through play.

September has also been a month of new beginnings, with lots of new children joining us and settling beautifully into nursery life. And, of course, we have proudly opened our brand-new Tweenies Room, creating another exciting space for our youngest learners to grow, explore and thrive. 💕

It has certainly been a busy month, but we have loved every single second!

Today we had the most special visit for our end of summer celebrations.
A few goodbyes and a big reward for filling our Positive Behaviour Pom Pom Jars in Toddlers, Lower Preschool and Upper Preschool 💙
Moove and Play visited us with the Soft Play Trailer and it was AMAZING.
We will definitely be regulars 🥰

🌟 The Tweenies Room is officially opening! 🌟

We’re so excited to share that our brand-new Tweenies Room is finally ready! 🥰

This week we’re having our soft launch, with a number of settling sessions taking place throughout the week, starting Tuesday. 💛

We know it’s taken a little longer than we originally expected, but we’re so pleased to have everything finished and ready to welcome our wonderful one-year-olds just in time for the new term! 🎉

We can’t wait to see them explore their new space, make new friends and enjoy all the exciting opportunities the Tweenies Room has to offer. 🧸✨

A little update from us 💛

You may have noticed that our social media has been a little quieter recently, so we wanted to let you know where we’ve been!

A few weeks ago, we shared with our nursery families that we had made the decision to go faceless on our social media channels as part of our ongoing safeguarding priorities. This decision was met with lots of support and understanding from our families, which we really appreciated. 💛

With AI tools developing so quickly and the increasing difficulty of being able to fully vet everyone who can access, view, save or interact with content shared online, we feel that our children’s safety has to come first.

This is not a decision we have made lightly. We know how much our local community loves seeing what the children are learning, exploring and enjoying, and we absolutely love sharing those special moments with you too.

We will still be here! 🌿

🎓✨ GRADUATION 2026 ✨🎓

Today was one of those days that reminds me exactly why we do what we do. ❤️

Today we celebrated our amazing Preschool children as they prepare to head off on their next adventure at big school!

They sang, danced and performed their hearts out before taking to the stage one by one to collect their certificates. And, of course, we couldn’t let them leave without finding out what they would like to be when they grow up…

We had police officers, firefighters, footballers, popstars, cleaners, lawyers, nail techs, mummy's… and my personal favourite 'Bug Man!'.

It was honestly so lovely to see just how confident they all were. Not only hearing their big dreams and aspirations, but watching them proudly wave at their families in the crowd, searching for those familiar faces and sharing their special moment with the people who mean the most to them.

Every year, saying goodbye seems to get that little bit harder. Every child leaves behind so many memories, little moments, funny stories and pieces of themselves that become part of the Happy Hours story.

But amongst the sadness of saying goodbye, there is also so much comfort in knowing that they are ready. Ready for new adventures, new friendships, new challenges and everything that big school has waiting for them.

So, whilst today might feel like a farewell for now, I hope every single one of our graduates knows that they will always be part of our Happy Hours family. Once a Happy Hours child, always a Happy Hours child.

To our incredible families, thank you. Thank you for trusting us with your children, for allowing us to be part of their journey and for sharing all of these precious years with us. It is a privilege that we never take for granted.

And to our Preschool children…

Go and be amazing. Dream big. Be kind. Be brave. Be YOU.

We are so incredibly proud of you.

Now go and show that big school exactly what you’re made of. 🎓❤️

It's not very often we say we have spaces for babies, but looking forward to the new term - we have some availability for Under 2's at nursery.
Due to the opening of our Tweenies room combined with lots of little ones getting ready for their transition into Toddlers we can now open our books again and invite you in to take a look around.

Remember, we offer lots of settling sessions so it's a good idea to come and see us sooner rather than later to get your little one settled in and ready to go.
