I am a qualified secondary English teacher and since leaving full time employment to have my children I have worked as a private tutor specialising in English, MFL and Maths to GCSE. I teach English as a second language. Tuition is available as one to one classes either at my classroom in Biddulph, Staffordshire Moorlands or on-line using video call. I have students from Europe as well as the UK.

I provide informal dyslexia assessments and visual stress assessments (please see service information for more details). All lessons are tailored to suit the student and their educational needs, I use a holistic approach to teaching and learning whereby the student feels safe and confident.

Hello everyone - next week is the last week for normal lessons.

From Monday July 20th the timetable switches to the summer one until Wednesday 12th August (see poster).

The summer timetable is book as and when rather than a set day and time (except for the home ed group lessons).

You can book for the summer holiday sessions from today.

You can also book in for September from next week 😊

Hi everyone! The classroom is open tomorrow, I have cold drinks and a fan to keep the students cool. Thankfully the room also faces north so is in the shade for most of the day.

Just a polite reminder that my T&Cs do specify that I require 24 hours notice regarding lesson cancellations. I understand that medical emergencies happen and take that into consideration. I will always try to offer another day/time or on line lesson where possible. However, I do ask that missed and cancelled lessons giving less than 24 hours notice are paid for.

The reason for this is that I cannot always move someone to fill the empty session in such short notice. A lot of tutors ask for payment of a month or term in advance or payments by standing order and are probably more fastidious than I am at implementing their T&Cs. However, I do politely ask that students and parents take this into consideration.
