🍂🎃 Autumn Adventures & Mental Health Awareness at Little Rockets! 🧡🍁

We’ve had a wonderful time embracing all things autumn at Little Rockets! 🍂 The children have been busy exploring, creating and learning through lots of fun, hands-on activities.

🍁 Conker paint rolling
🎨 Autumn paint stamping and printing
🧸 Teddy bear picnics with our favourite cuddly friends
🖌️ Colourful autumn-inspired messy play
🍂 Exploring autumn colours, textures and natural treasures

We also came together to support World Mental Health Day 💚 by inviting both our children and staff to wear their pyjamas to nursery! 💤 It was a lovely way to raise awareness, encourage conversations about feelings and remind everyone how important it is to look after our mental health.

From creative little hands to cosy teddy bear picnics, there’s been so much fun, laughter and learning along the way! 🥰

At Little Rockets, we love creating opportunities for our little ones to explore the world around them, express themselves and make special memories every day. 🚀❤️

We’ve had a fantastic start to our new monthly topic as we explore the sights, sounds, smells, textures and colours of autumn and Halloween! 🧡 🧡🍁✨
Our little learners have been busy exploring their senses through lots of hands-on experiences, including: 🎨🧸🌟
🎨 Finger painting and exploring different textures 🎨🖌️✨
🥦 Vegetable stamping and discovering the different marks they can make 🥦🎨🍂
🍁 Exploring our garden and noticing the changes happening in our environment 🍁🌳🌻
🧙‍♀️ Making our very own Halloween cauldrons 🧙‍♀️🎃✨
📚 Enjoying visits to our local library, developing a love of books, stories and our wider community 📚📖🌟
Through these experiences, the children are developing their curiosity, creativity, communication and physical skills, while learning through play and exploring the world around them. 🌿✨ 🌿🧠🎈

🌈 All About Me – Exploring Our Senses & Keeping Healthy! 🌈
This week we’ve been learning all about ourselves and our amazing bodies! 👀👃👂 We’ve been exploring our five senses through fun, hands-on activities, discovering how we use sight, smell, touch and hearing to explore the world around us.
🏃‍♀️ We’ve also been learning how exercise affects our bodies, getting active and talking about how our hearts beat faster, our bodies warm up and how movement helps to keep us healthy and strong.
🌱 We’ve been thinking about our local community and the people and places that help us stay healthy, including farms and where some of our food comes from. We’ve loved learning that making healthy choices, being active and understanding our bodies are all important parts of looking after ourselves. 💚

All About Me – A week of learning, exploring, and discovering! 🎨✨🌟

We have had lots of fun continuing to explore our topic, All About Me, through hands-on and messy activities! 🖐️🧼🌈
Our messy play and hand-washing activities explored cause and effect, noticing how our actions create a change, from getting messy to using water and soap to make our hands clean again! 💧🫧🎈

We have explored emotions through our Colour Monster tuff tray and created our own self-portraits, developing our sense of identity and creativity. 🎨🖼️🧠

We have also enjoyed activities linked to World Clean Our Beaches Day and Harvest, helping us learn about our environment and the world around us. 🏖️🌾🌍

Our activities supported key areas of the EYFS, including PSED, Communication and Language, Physical Development, Understanding the World, and Expressive Arts and Design. 📚🧩🎓

What a wonderful first full week back at Little Rockets, with all of our children back and settling into their routines after the summer break! 💕
It has been lovely to see everyone reconnect with their friends, familiar routines and learning environments, while building confidence and independence once again.
This week we’ve kicked off exploring our monthly topic “All About Me” through lots of fun, hands-on learning.
We’ve created silhouettes and self-portraits, made paper dolls inspired by our book of the week, and explored emotions through Colour Monster collages. 🎨📚
Our sensory tuff trays helped us explore our local community, while our visits out into the local area gave the children opportunities to develop their awareness of the world around them. 🌳🏡
A lovely first week back full of creativity, emotions, exploration and reconnecting with friends and routines! ❤️🚀
