**M***i Day in exchange for Christmas Raffle Prizes**

Tomorrow (Tuesday 23rd November), your child can come to school in M***i in exchange for donations for the Christmas raffle.
As the virtual raffle was such a success last year, raising £640 for the school (an amazing amount thank you - can we beat that this year?!), we have decided to run it again this year, as we can’t have one in person.
We would like to create 3 Christmas Hampers as follows:

Alcohol Hamper – a hamper to replenish the drinks cabinet in time for Christmas!
Christmas Food Hamper – a range of festive goodies for the whole family to enjoy!
Confectionary Hamper – packed full of chocolate and other tasty treats to help you to over indulge this Christmas!

Any donations that would fit into one of these 3 hampers would be much appreciated. Also for those of you who have any close ties to local businesses, we would also very happily accept gift vouchers or other donations as raffle prizes!

There will be a table outside school for all your donations on the morning and afternoon of Tuesday 23rdNovember – thank you in advance for all your support! Tickets will be available to buy via ParentMail (details to follow) and the draw will take place on Wednesday 15th December.

MARSH GIBBON CE PRIMARY SCHOOL GOVERNING BOARD – ELECTION OF GOVERNORS
Following the retirement of two of our long-standing governors, neither of whom are parents of children at the school, we are looking to recruit two replacements to join the Governing Board from the start of the autumn term.
We would like to ask all parents and carers if they know anybody not directly connected with the school who might be interested in filling one of these important voluntary roles.
No formal qualifications are required; they just need common sense, time, enthusiasm and a commitment to working as part of a team to make a difference for all the children at our school. As a guide, being a school governor takes up 6 – 8 hours a month of time and the term of office is three years.
If you know someone who may be interested, they can find out more about the role by speaking with me via the School Office on 01869 277268 or by email [email protected].
Nominations should be sent to Tony Wells by email or letter via the School Office by 3pm on Thursday 8th July 2021. If there are only two people nominated, they will of course be elected unopposed, but if there are more candidates than vacancies, a postal ballot will be held.
If it proves impossible to fill all vacancies with candidates not connected to the school, the Governing Board will consider appointing a parent/carer. Therefore, if you are interested in becoming a governor please do contact Tony Wells as above.
Please note that governors will be required to complete a DBS Check and also a Declaration Form to confirm they are not disqualified from being a governor.
Prospective governors should also note that the school has a Close Personal Relationships Policy and therefore they should not become a Governor if they have a close personal relationship with a member of staff at the same school.
Parents may be interested in the overall constitution of the Governing Body, which is as follows:
• One local authority governor nominated by Bucks CC and appointed by Governing Body
• Two parent governors
• One staff governor, elected by other staff at the school
• One head teacher
• Seven foundation governors

PLEASE START SAVING & DONATING YOUR USED INKJET CARTRIDGES

The PTA have set up a cartridge recycling deposit box on the school gate for the Community to donate their used inkjet cartridges. We are looking for inkjet cartridges made by HP or Canon.

The 'non-virgin' cartridges can also be donated (ie the recycled cartridges that have been filled again but no longer have the Canon or HP brand on them).

Brothers and Epsom can also be donated for recycling purposes but there is no cash value for us.

Please note: We are NOT collecting the large office/industrial sized cartridges found in copiers, etc.

Please don't forget to ask friends and family too!

Recycle today for a cleaner tomorrow.

Great news! The school PTA is now set up with Amazon Smile. So every time you shop with Amazon they will donate a % to the school. All you need to do is click on

Santa is back in Marsh Gibbon tomorrow night (Thursday) from 6pm-8pm.

Tomorrow evening staff and committee members will be walking around Marsh Gibbon Village with Santa!!

Winslow Rotary Club will kindly join us with their sleigh, which allows us to raise money for our wonderful Pre-School.

We will be setting off from the village hall around 6pm and aim to finish by 8pm. Please look out for us, answer any knocks at the door and kindly donate to support the Pre-School.
