Taekwondo is a dynamic, exciting and effective self-defence system, consisting of blocks, strikes, punches and kicks, that can be learned by everybody from 6-60. Classes typically consist of fitness exercises, punching and kicking pads, self defence drills, sparring, artistic patterns and stretching, which are all designed to help students progress through the traditional ITF syllabus, from beginner through to Black Belt and beyond. On this 1 year anniversary of the national lockdown, I wanted to take time to thank all of our instructors for their part in keeping our classes going - online, outdoors, indoors and back online; and to thank each and every one of our students who has perservered with their training and been open-minded enough to adapt the way they train in this difficult circumstances. UPDATE: IN PERSON CLASSES
Following the update today in government guidelines, we confirm that we are planning to move back to in-person classes in some format by the end of the month.
The difficulty we are faced with is that all schools that we have used as venues for our classes previously (not leisure centres) have indicated to us that they will not be opening to indoor bookings until at least September, and all but 1 or 2 will not be allowing us to use any outdoor spaces either.
Our plan is therefore to:
1. Find secure and safe outdoor spaces to run classes (we are waiting for confirmation on the number of class participants that will be allowed);
2. Find indoor spaces in other venues where possible.
3. A reduced online timetable will still be available for those students who do not feel comfortable returning to in-person classes yet.
As soon as we have any updates for each club, you will of course be informed. Your input and views are of course very welcome - please feel free to PM or email me .
