🎉 PLAYGROUND TUCK SHOP🎉

Although our disco had to be cancelled at the last minute, we still have lots of delicious treats and fun goodies that we bought for the event – and we’d love them to find a happy home before the summer holidays!

🍭 So… tomorrow after school (straight after the whole-school singing on the playground), we’ll be setting up a FOLVS Tuck Shop on the playground.

We’ll have:
🥤 Drinks
🥔 Crisps
🍬 Lots of sweet treats
🧸 Pocket money toys

So come and say hello, treat the children to a little end-of-term surprise, and help us clear our disco goodies!

💙 Cash is preferred if possible, as card payments can be a little unreliable thanks to the pesky phone signal.

WOW! What a day! 🥳🎧

We honestly can’t believe how much the children loved the silent disco today! It completely exceeded our expectations and we’re still smiling thinking about it 🥰

The excitement from start to finish was incredible, the playlists were a huge hit, and the children (and the teachers! 🤭) had SO much fun.

The little ones especially loved it so much they just had to have another go! In fact, it was such a success that the children were begging us to do it again…

So, we’ve got no choice! 😄 We’ve booked another silent disco for Zone Day next week so we can keep the party going! 🥳🎧💃🕺

A huge thank you to all the staff and volunteers who helped make today so special. We can’t wait to do it all over again next week!

Just to clarify - there is NO charge or parent contribution required now for Friday's activities. This is a treat from FOLVS to make up for the fun activities having to be cancelled!

FOLVS are so gutted that we’ve had to cancel our disco because of the weather 😢

We had lots of plans in place to try and make it work despite the heat, but with temperatures continuing to rise this week, we have to put the safety of our children, parents and volunteers first.

But in true FOLVS style, we are absolutely NOT going to let the weather spoil the fun - although this seems to be a theme this year! We know the children will be disappointed that both Sports Day and the disco have been cancelled, so we’re determined to make sure they still have a really fun day on Friday to make up for it!

So... The Silent Disco kit is all set up and ready to go, so during the school day on Friday, all children are invited to come to school in their party clothes — but think light, cool and comfy! They’ll then get the chance to enjoy a fun classroom Silent Disco, choosing their own playlist and having a little fun with their friends.

And because no party is complete without a treat, the FOLVS team will also be out on a mission around Bicester to track down ice lollies to help keep everyone cool, with the hope of delivering one to every child on the day (stock permitting!).

We’re so disappointed that the heatwave has got in the way of our plans again, but we’re really hoping the children will still have a lovely day full of music, fun and a little Friday treat from FOLVS 🥳

Edited to add: there is no need to bring money in for Friday as had been previously communicated when the Disco’s were going ahead. This is a treat from FOLVS 🥰

💃🕺 Friday’s Disco 🥳🎧

We’re still very much hoping to go ahead with Friday’s discos despite the hot weather forecast 🫠☀️ We’ve got lots of plans in place to help keep everyone safe and comfortable, and we’ll continue to reassess things as the week goes on. For now though, it’s all systems go! 🙌

What we really need right now is some parent volunteers to help at our discos:
✨ Year 3 & 4
✨ Year 5 & 6

With the hot weather plans in place, we need a few extra hands on deck to help everything run smoothly.

This year’s disco will take place on Friday 10th July, and for the very first time, we’re trying something new for the Year 1+ children… a SILENT DISCO! 🎧✨

If you’ve never experienced one before, here’s how it works: each child wears a pair of wireless headphones and can choose from three different music channels. The headphones even light up in different colours, so children can see who else is listening to the same songs! They can switch channels whenever they like, adjust the volume to suit them, and if they need a break, they can simply take the headphones off.

Trust us—it’s great fun! In fact, the funniest part is often for the adults, who get to watch 100 children enthusiastically singing along to completely different songs at the same time! 🎵😂

The disco for nursery and reception will remain its usual format, some fun music and games. We will have a disco set up for the year 1 & 2 children but they will be able to use the headphones too if they want to have a go!

A letter with full details, including drop-off and collection arrangements and ticket prices, will be sent out soon. For now, save the date!

We will also need some parent volunteers to help at the final two discos (Years 3 & 4 and Years 5 & 6). If you’re able to lend a hand, please leave a comment below and we’ll be in touch.

Thank you everyone for supporting our Father’s Day sale today! For those of you with siblings in school, we tried to keep a note of who bought what, but quite frankly, about an hour in we realised it was impossible! So some siblings may have doubled up on the same gift 🤯

If your children have brought home the same, please see reception where I’ve left a box of spares so people can exchange. Also, anyone who was off today can also purchase items from reception until Friday.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported our Summer Fete! Despite having to completely rethink our layout at very short notice because of the rain—and eventually having to pack up many attractions earlier than planned due to the downpour—we still managed to raise an incredible £2,859 for the school! 🤩

This year’s fete was particularly special as we celebrated the school's 30th birthday, making it a wonderful occasion for our whole Langford community. We welcomed more than 1,300 visitors through the gates, which was just incredible, and it was fantastic to see so many former pupils, families, and members of staff joining us for the celebrations. We have also received some lovely feedback from attendees about what a great day they had, which means so much to us 🥰

Events like this are only possible because of the support of so many people. Thank you to everyone who helped plan and organise this event, volunteered their time on the day, donated gazebos and supplies for our weather-related issues, and, of course, everyone who came along to support us on the day. Thank you once again for helping us create such a memorable celebration and for supporting our school and local community.

Only 4 more sleeps until the BIG day! 🎉

We just need two little things before then:

Just a reminder that this Friday is a non-uniform day in exchange for bottle donations. Bottles can be dropped off by the hall between 8:30–9:00am on Friday morning.

We’ll also happily accept Teddy Tombola donations at the same time too 🧸
