Every young person deserves the chance to see their talent take flight—regardless of their financial background. 🎵✨

Music is a lifeline and a passion for so many of our students. Yet, to study Music at GCSE level, students are required to take weekly private music lessons. For some of our most talented and dedicated young people, that cost is simply out of reach. It means watching a passionate Year 9 student walk away from something they love, simply because they can't afford to stay.

We are determined to change that story—and we need your help.

We are looking to fund a **Music Scholarship for a vulnerable student** who has the dream and the talent, but lacks the financial means.

**Here is how you can transform a young life:**

* **The Cost:** £1,716 (which breaks down to £858 a year, or roughly £28 a week during term time).

* **The Impact:** This fully funds one weekly instrument or vocal lesson over two years, giving a student the tools, guidance, and opportunity to earn their Music GCSE.

* **The Goal:** We are seeking one generous individual, a local business, or a small group of community members willing to pool resources to fund a scholarship.

Your support isn't just paying for music lessons; it’s building confidence, opening doors, and changing a young person’s future.

If you, your business, or a group of friends might be interested in sponsoring a student, please reach out to us at **
[email protected] We would love to chat with you about how you can make this dream a reality.

Please share this post to help us spread the word across our community! 🎻🎹🥁🎸

Laughter, Relief, and Big Ambitions: The Cooper School Celebrates GCSE Results Day

Year 11 students gather to collect their qualifications, marking the end of five memorable years with individual triumphs, shared support, and exciting next steps.

The Cooper School, Bicester — This morning, the silence of a school site in August was broken by whoops, cheers, and occasional tears of delight at The Cooper School, as Year 11 students returned to collect their GCSE results. After weeks of waiting, students tore open their envelopes alongside classmates, family members, and teachers who gathered in the main hall to share the moment. Today’s results reflect five years of determination and personal growth, creating a school community that cares deeply about the individual stories of its students.

From individual subject breakthroughs to stellar top marks, every outcome celebrated today represents countless hours studying, early morning revision sessions, and quiet perseverance.

"What stands out to me today isn’t just the numbers on a sheet of paper — it’s the character of these young people. They’ve dared to dream big, put in the hard yards when it mattered most, and above all, stayed remarkably kind and supportive to one another through the stress of exam season. I couldn’t be prouder of the people they’ve become, and I can't wait to welcome many of them back to continue their studies with us in our 6th form."

— Charlotte Broom, Headteacher

Among those celebrating today are Ieva A and Josie B, who both got a full suite of grade 9s, 8s and 7s. An impressive achievement.

Fellow student Jackson W is also celebrating today having secured some great results in his core subjects, after a huge amount of work.

These are just three of the many success stories at The Cooper School this morning with 57% of students securing 4+ in both English and Maths.

As envelopes are folded up and students head off to celebrate with friends and family, the school turns its focus to the start of next academic year, as it embarks on a journey of new leadership, rapid improvement and the continuous and deep care for the stories of growth in the student community.

At The Cooper School this morning, we are celebrating the resilience, ambition and excellence of our brilliant Year 13s collecting their hard-earned A Level results.

These results mark not only strong academic achievement across a wide breadth of subjects, but also the remarkable personal journeys of the young people behind the grades. There are stories of dedication, growth and perseverance which make the staff at The Cooper School incredibly proud of all of our students.

Academic highlights include:

24% of grades achieved at A*-A

47% of grades achieved at A*- B

74% of grades achieved at A*-C

Exceptional A Level performance achieved by: Will Felappi (4xA*s), Jack Depit (3xA*s) and Beth Griffin (3xA*s)

Excellent A Level performance achieved by: Leah Gattrell, Felix Faulkner, Aaron Lloyd, Lilee Camp, Aliyah Mcleod, Maisey O’Dell, Imogen Maxwell, Eliza Membury, Livia Wilkie, Chui-Que Wong, Gytis Adomaitis, Yuliana Tishkina, Emily Straughair and Lexie Nash.

There are also many other brilliant stories from today: congratulations to everyone who collected results today.

Celebrating her first A Level results day since taking leadership of the school, Headteacher, Charlotte Broom, expressed immense pride in the community's achievements:

"Days like today are about so much more than statistics or league tables. What moves me most is seeing the individual stories represented by each envelope opened today. I have had the pleasure of hearing many of these stories from the senior leadership team and I could not be prouder of how our students have risen to the challenge of dreaming big and working hard. My only sadness today is not having had enough time to get to know the individuals behind these grades. However, I hope that they will always feel proud that The Cooper School was part of their story and I invite every single one of them to keep in touch with us, and return to share their stories and inspire the next generation of students. Good luck Year 13, whether you are heading to university, embarking on high-level apprenticeships, or taking your first steps into the world of work. Go and be the confident, well-rounded individuals that we know you are and make that positive mark on the world."
