Thank you to everyone who donated items for our Summer Fete on Friday.

We were overwhelmed by your generosity and are so grateful for all the wonderful donations received. We'd also like to thank the volunteers who gave up their time this morning to help collect, sort and store everything.

If you meant to donate but didn't get the chance, don't worry! We'll happily accept any donations at Sports Day next week, so please feel free to bring them along.

Thank you too to everyone who has already signed up to help at Sports Day.

Congratulations to our Boys A Team, who won their final this week and were crowned Bicester Champions! 🏆⚽️

This is a fantastic achievement and means that St Edburg’s have won 3 years in a row!

The boys have been brilliant representatives of our school, demonstrating outstanding skill, behaviour and respect throughout the year. St Edburg’s are very proud of all of them - well done! 👏🏻

Last week was Careers Week at St Edburg’s! Throughout the school, the children spent time exploring a wide range of careers, thinking about future jobs they may enjoy and developing their aspirations for the future.

Year 5 and 6 were fortunate to welcome an inspirational visitor each day, who shared valuable insights into different jobs and career pathways. Visitors included representatives from Oxford University, a student mechanical engineer, a project manager, professionals from the aerospace industry and Cala Homes. The children thoroughly enjoyed asking questions, learning about the skills needed for different careers and discovering the many exciting opportunities available to them in the future.

Across the week, all children were enthusiastic, engaged and curious as they explored careers linked to their interests and talents. They spent time reflecting on their own ambitions, discussing their strengths and considering the goals they may wish to achieve as they grow older.

A few snapshots of one of our brilliant Climate Change Showcases, which we held last week. Every class in the school researched their chosen topic and presented their findings to the community, in our showcase and in our annual Climate Change Week booklet, which you will be able to view on our website.

We’re absolutely delighted to share some exciting news from the PTA!

Our Outdoor Gazebo Project has been successfully accepted into the Tesco Grants Programme, which means it will now go forward to a public vote in selected Tesco stores. 🎉

This project will help us create a versatile outdoor space for the children – supporting learning, outdoor activities, and school events, while providing a sheltered, environmentally friendly area that can be used all year round.

Voting runs from Tuesday 28th April until the end of July 2026.

Every time you shop in a participating Tesco store, you’ll receive a blue token at the checkout. Simply pop your token into the slot for St Edburg’s School PTA.

Last month we celebrated 10 years since St Edburg’s opened on Pioneer Way!

Since then we have expanded even further, most recently opening our Lower School Site on Ludlow Road. We spent some time in Collective Worship thinking about St Edburg’s over the years, from Cemetery Road to Pioneer Way. We shared some of our favourite memories at our current Upper School Site, including the first time we stepped foot in the building, many successful sports days, memorable victories in football and even a curious alien spaceship landing…

Attached are some images from Acanthus Clews, the architects, which show the planning stages of our brand new site, as well as one of our first visits!

You can also see some of the brilliant mosaics, designed annually as a legacy piece by each cohort of Year 6 children, displayed on both school sites.
