Maths is so much more than just numbers on a page - it's also about discovery! 🧩✨

This student came along yesterday with a question that she didn't understand from her homework, instead of just answering the question, we raided the maths cupboard!

We had so much fun exploring the magic of equivalent fractions using fraction towers and other manipulatives. We created our very own fraction walls and there was an awful lot of talk about pizza! 🍕

Not only did we help her understand her homework better, we also covered simplifying fractions, odd & even numbers, multiplication & division, reasoning, looking for number relationships and so much more! ✖️➗️

When we swap out boring worksheets for hands-on learning, math concepts finally click and stick for good. 💛 👍

I have a rare day off so I should be creating some engaging content to remind people that I'm still tutoring through the summer holidays!

But as most of you already know, I'm rubbish at social media and got side tracked by this! 🤦‍♀️

I scored far too many for my liking.

It's been an emotional couple of weeks, saying goodbye to my Year 11s, especially as some have been with me for many years now!

I am so very proud of you all. You have all worked so hard to nail those tricky topics and put in so much effort in preparation for your exams.

I do a lot of writing during sessions to demonstrate topics, how to lay out workings and help with calculations, etc.

The new wrist accessory is proving to be a bit of a challenge, so I'm easing myself in with a Sudoku!
