Operating as usual
Councillor, Phillip Read; Journalist and Author, Ken Barrett; and ex Police Officer, David Hinxman, visited Beths, where they had studied as pupils from 1958. We are delighted and grateful to receive a large selection of quality art books donated by Phillip Read for the furtherment of Beth’s art students. Mr Hayman graciously received the numerous books which included catalogues from the Royal Academy, books accompanying recent exhibitions by range of influential contemporary practitioners and beautifully illustrated biographies of well-known masters. We are certain our pupils will benefit greatly from this resource.
Furthermore, Ken Barrett presented our school with a signed copy of his latest book ’22 Walks in Bangkok: Exploring the City's Historic Back Lanes and Byways’ which records some of his time living in the city with lots of historical facts and amusing anecdotes. We would like to thank our ex-pupils for presenting us with these gifts, which will inspire and support our pupil’s curiosity and sense of adventure!

On Thursday 23rd November students from GCSE and A Level Drama went to watch Dear England at the Prince Edward Theatre in London. The students had fantastic seats with clear views of the stage to see how Gareth Southgate turned the England team around getting them through a dreaded penalty shoot out and into the final of Euro 2020. The play brought some of the main players of the team and back room staff to life to give us an insight into how the team changed their mindset to produce better results in the game and come together as a real team. The students thoroughly enjoyed the show and were complimented for their top behaviour whilst watching the show.
