COVID-19: guidance for households with possible coronavirus infection 31/08/2020

Dear Parents

We are happy to confirm our Autumn term starts on Monday 7th September.

We understand parent’s concerns where their child may either have not been to Nursery since lockdown or is one of our new starters. We assure you we will be as accommodating as the guidelines allow us to be to minimise any upset.

Please talk to your children about how it might be different for them at nursery before they come back.

In order to re-open we are required to change our usual practices. The set up will not be the same as the children are used to. For example there will be no soft furnishings, carpets or soft toys. Snacktime will also now be held all together in the main hall instead of the small side room.

Children do not need to bring in snacks as we will supply the usual fruit & toast at snacktime. Milk will still be available.

Children should bring in a clearly named drinks bottle which will be kept in their tray & will be available to them throughout the session. We ask that children do not bring in toys or other items unless essential to their health & well-being.

Parents/carers should physically distance themselves from each other & staff when dropping off & picking up children. There should be only ONE parent/carer per household at these times. We may stagger drop off & pick up times to avoid parents congregating outside.

Please notify us on a daily basis if a child is NOT going to attend the session & the reason why.

As required by KCC, we have completed a risk assessment which has resulted in various changes we have to make to our ‘normal’ practice which include :-

Anyone who is displaying corona virus symptoms (or who lives with someone displaying the symptoms) MUST NOT attend the setting. This includes children and staff.

Parents and non-essential visitors will not be allowed inside the setting. Children will be met outside the door and taken inside by a member of staff after using hand sanitiser.

Hand cleaning will be more often than usual, supervised & using rhymes to ensure they wash thoroughly for at least 20 seconds using soap & running water, drying thoroughly with paper towels.

Good respiratory hygiene will be encouraged – Catch it, Kill it, Bin it - using tissues & hand sanitiser afterwards.

Children do NOT need to wear facemasks and will be required to remove them (if worn) before entering Nursery.
If a child shows symptoms while at the setting our procedure is to isolate them in a ventilated side room with a staff member (who will have PPE) and a parent/carer will be called to collect them immediately. Government guidelines should be followed on ‘what to do if you or someone in your household develops symptoms.’

We have implemented a cleaning schedule to maintain cleanliness and safety of the setting, toys and resources.

We hope this gives you the information you need to understand the arrangements we have made to enable children to return to us.

Please be assured that we have taken all possible steps to ensure safety for all in our setting. We look forward to welcoming the children back

If you have any further questions please contact us on 07762596760 (phone/text) or email [email protected].

We have just said our goodbyes & wished good luck to our lovely Class of 2020. Luckily it was a sunny week too with lots of outdoor play & pictures to remember.

Now for everyone to look forward to, here are our new term dates so you can start planning ahead 😃

2 years on & our lovely playhouse (made possible from the generous local group JOYARA) is still going strong. The children are having a great time in our newly spruced up area too 😀

We are pleased to say that on 7th September 2020 we will be open for business as usual - following correct Gov guidelines of course.

Any new enquiries please call Sharon on 07762596760.

Those on the waiting list will already have received their start dates & any paperwork needed.

Looking forward to seeing you all.

Letters to current parents have been sent out regarding re-opening to a limited number of children on 22nd June.

🌈The teachers woke today to a beautiful surprise - a rainbow & lots of kisses & smiley faces sent to us by our fantabulous children 🌈

Can we say a huge thank you to all the children (& parents of course) for sending us such a wonderful happy message. I think it's safe to say there weren't many dry eyes in our households 😍

We miss you & are looking forward to getting back to work with everyone safe & well & to some sort of normality very soon.

Sending big virtual hugs and kisses to you all. 💕🤗

Hope you are all up-to-date 🤞

🐰🐣🥣 At nursery at this time of year we make Easter chocolate cornflake or rice crispy cakes to take home - so now it's down to you to keep the tradition going & enjoy the excuse to indulge at home. Don't let us down, it's a nice easy cookery lesson.

Here's hoping you are all keeping well, but if not, fingers crossed you're fighting fit very soon.

Wishing you all a wonderful Easter & hope the Bunny brings you lots of delicious goodies. 🌸🐰

Lots of love from all the teachers.
