Earlier this month I performed three fantastic recitals in South Wales and had a wonderful time performing in all of these gorgeous venues in Cardiff, Newport and Caerphilly. It’s always great to go back to the city where I studied music and even better to go and share music with the people of wonderful Wales! I had a great time performing but also found wonderful places to eat, drink, walk and read throughout the trip as well as visiting local guitar maker Paul Beauchamp and more. As always, I am very grateful to Knobloch Strings for their support and amazing strings which keep me sounding wonderful wherever I go. Here are a few a snaps from the trip… once I got back summer holidays officially began 🌊 🏊‍♂️ 🌞 🍻

I thoroughly enjoyed giving a coffee concert recital for Battle Festival on Saturday (25/07) and just had a great time sharing music with the audience. Afterwards, Anastasiya and I had a really lovely stroll around Robertsbridge and then an epic meal at the George Inn pub there locally….. see photos and be prepared for a hunger attack 🍟🍔. Next concerts are in Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 in early August and I can’t wait to visit Cardiff again!

I’m so excited to be back in Battle for another amazing summer festival .festival. They have been putting on some incredible events and I’m so grateful to be welcomed back for another year. I’ll be performing a mixture of works from the 20th century exploring the Bream and Segovia repertoire with one or two surprises along the way. In this video I’m playing a Ponce prelude on an instrument. Get your tickets now: https://www.ticketsource.com/battle-festival/classical-guitar-recital/e-jplgar

As the summer season comes to its final crescendo I have four more recitals! Next up is a performance for Battle Festival taking place at a lovely local church. Then in August a tour of south wales starting classical followed by The Place Newport and then finishing with all with music by both the Berekeleys including Sonata in One Movement alongside his fathers work and more! I have been a bit slow and haven’t updated the events page on my website and am about to head abroad for another comp so feeling energetic and excited to perform lovely concerts in between.

I so enjoyed performing in Bexhill for my guitar society, AKClassicalGuitarSociety and part of the on Sunday. A really huge thank you to the wonderful audience who helped me a great deal as I juggled all the roles including ushering, seating , introducing and of course performing. There was a very unusual and memorable moment where a seagull attempted to gate crash the concert but luckily someone managed to wrestle it outside before a scene was caused! 🐣😅 Then pints were had on the beach with Dad, Steve and Gerald…..
