Dear Parents and Families,

In response to the Met Office weather warnings affecting our region and the intense heat inside the school building, we have made the decision to close the school for children at 1:00 pm on Friday 10th July.

The forecast conditions present a significant health and safety risk for our children and staff and after careful consideration we believe that closing the school during the hottest part of the day is the safest course of action.

This decision is in line with both The Bewdley School and Bewdley Primary School.

We appreciate that this closure may create challenges for families, and we apologise for both the late notice and the inconvenience this may cause. However, the safety and wellbeing of our children and staff must remain our highest priority.

We will continue to monitor the temperature situation closely and will provide any further updates regarding future arrangements as soon as possible - particularly for next week’s school events. Thank you for your understanding, continued support, and cooperation.

UPDATE - EARLY CLOSURE EXTENDED TO FRIDAY 26th JUNE

EARLY SCHOOL CLOSURE WEDNESDAY 24TH AND THURSDAY 25TH JUNE

Dear Parent/Carer,

In response to the MET office red weather warnings close to our region tomorrow (24/6/26) and Thursday (25/6/26) of this week, we will be modifying our school day.

The forecast for high 30 degrees and possibly 40 degrees, peaking in the afternoon, poses a significant health and safety risk for our students and staff.

Our school day will therefore finish at 1pm tomorrow and Thursday. Please collect your children from their classrooms as normal. The gate will be open from 12:55. Lunches will still be served before this but we have adapted the menu to sandwiches and salad tomorrow and Thursday. This is due to the very high temperatures in the kitchen and will allow us to keep our catering staff safe. If your child does not want this option and you have already booked, please send a packed lunch instead and you will not be charged.

We appreciate that this early finish for the next 2 days may create some challenges for families but the safety of our children and staff is our priority.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any disruption these arrangements may cause, we will monitor the weather forecast for Friday and provide an update at the earliest opportunity.

Today's big question...

On Saturday evening, our awesome Choir were honoured to perform at The Mayor’s Charity Concert. I’m so proud of all of the children, who performed superbly and whose brilliant behaviour was commented on by many! A huge thank you to Mrs Ross and Miss Hamer, and to all of our families who took time out of their weekend to ensure their children attended to represent our school.
What a fabulous event to be part of! ⭐️
