🥰 Wellbeing Wednesdays 🥰
Our job as teachers often means working long antisocial hours during term time with late nights and weekends forming a regular part of our teaching and admin schedule.
Something that I have become more conscious of over the past few years and also learned to prioritise is my own personal physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. In order for me to be on point for my pupils and present as a parent for my own children, keeping fit, healthy, and in the right mindset is vital.
Wednesdays is a non-teaching day for me, and it could, if I let it, get eaten up with being stuck behind a computer(the least favourite part of my role). Getting outside for fresh air, a bike ride, a walk, or run is my little bit of calm in an otherwise, pretty hectic week.
We have two beautiful and energetic labradors that also need an outlet, so country or beach walks are an easy win.
Today, we took the long loop around Risby lakes, saw two pairs of red kites, soaked up some sunshine, and finished up with a cuppa and flapjack at the Folly Lake Cafe afterwards. Just the tonic!
