Educare Nursery

Today in Buttercup's the children have been developing their fine motor skills by tipping, pouring and exploring different textures in the water and tuff tray. The children have also enjoyed looking at their facial expressions In the mirrors and matching them to the emotion mats to promote their emotion awareness.

Our little sunflowers have been exploring painting on leaves at the messy area activity today. The children are developing their fine motor skills, they are holding the tooth brushes and spreading the paint over the leaves. The children can observe the marks the paint make on the leaves.
As well as their fine motor skills, the children are learning to take turns and share. This activity help the children to develop their social skills.

Today the rose room children have been doing a summer based curriculum activity, making towers with pebbles! The children enjoyed building the towers, counting the stones as they balanced them on top of each other! We then used the stones to copy the picture cards, making different shapes! In this activity we have enhanced our maths skills, using words such as 'Big, small, tall, higher'! Well done Rose room!

Today the Bluebells have been exploring and talking about different textures. We had a tray with a range of items in such as sticks, logs, stones, rocks, shells and feathers and the bluebells have been exploring and describing all of the different items. 'This is spiky!' One child said as they picked up a shell. Another child said 'This feather is fluffy!' This activity supports the children's communication and language development as well as our summer curriculum.

Today the Bluebells have been learning how to cross a road safely. We talked about what there could be on the road (cars, buses etc) and who could help us to cross safely. We had a lollipop person telling us when it was safe to cross and we stopped at the road, looked left and right and crossed when it was safe to do so. 'There is no cars!' The children said, and they all held hands to cross the road together safely. This activity supports the children's physical development aswell as our 'people that help us' curriculum.

In the Buttercup room today, the children have been busy bodies exploring many areas of learning indoors and outdoors to support their 7 key areas of development in relation to EYFS!!! The activities have included reading story books, splashing fun in the glitter water, sunny sandpit digging, rolling playdough animal's and riding scooters!!! 😃😎

Our little sunflowers have been enjoying the sunny garden today. The children have been playing exploring the water trays. The children explore textures, temperatures, and the movement of water, enhancing sensory awareness. Group water play promotes cooperation, turn-taking, and communication, helping children develop important social interactions.

Today the rose room children have been exploring a curriculum activity, the profession of being a lollipop person today! The children have taken it in turns to be the lollipop person, using the sign to stop the traffic and letting each other safely cross the road! The children enjoyed this activity in the sunshine and we have learned how to safely cross the road! This activity has enhanced our physical development, our communication and language, and our understanding of the world! Well done Roses!

Today the Bluebells have been looking and talking about people who help us, as part of our curriculum. The children talked about how the Firefighters " put out fires" " drive fire engines" and the police people "help us" and "get the bad people" and " drive police cars" and the doctors " make us better when we are poorly". The children have really enjoyed using the fire station we have created and have loved using the doctors kit to make each other better and the dolls too. This helps us to support their understanding of the world.
