Social Media Policy
This policy explains how the Beverley Minster Primary School PTFA will use social media. You can see this here by clicking on to the following link https://www.facebook.com/beverleyminsterprimaryschoolptfa however we plan to extend this to Twitter and this policy will be updated as and when this happens. Access to the social media used by our association
The Beverley Minster Primary School Facebook presence is an open page. This means it can be accessed by any Facebook user without permission being given by the PTFA, however any posts to the page will need to be approved by the admin, currently Georgina Richardson (although this team will extended as needed). Aims of the page
The aim of the page is to provide an additional and alternative information source for the PTFA to raise awareness of its activities and promote its events. Permitted members
A ‘liker’ is a user that has intentionally clicked the ‘like’ option on the page. Beverley Minster Primary School PTFA does not encourage inappropriate use of social media by children or anyone else. Any ‘likers’ of the page aged less than 13 years (this feature is offered by facebook when setting up the page), or anyone not adhering to Facebook overall rules will be removed and blocked, preventing them from liking the page in the future. How this page will be used
Beverley Minster Primary School PTFA uses its page exclusively to support the running of the group. It is used to communicate with ‘likers’, share relevant information and promote events, recruit volunteer helpers to support the PTFA’s activities, thank local supporters and to canvass new members etc. It may also be used to ask parents opinions/ideas on raising funds for the school and how to use that money on improving school life for all. Usage that is not permitted
The Beverley Minster Primary School page is not intended for discussing any aspect of school life (including personal opinions or grievances) and should not be used to promote any other matters, or business, other than those of the PTFA. Supporters of the PTFA may be acknowledged on the page – these may be trading as a business, however the PTFA will not endorse any organisation. Any inappropriate posts made, including any derogatory comments or personal attacks, will be removed by the administrator and Beverley Minster Primary School PTFA retains the right to ban any user who makes inappropriate use of the page. Any complaints or grievances about the school should be addressed directly to the Head Teacher as outlined on the school website. Comments and Photographs
All posts made to the page will need to be checked and approved by the administrator, this will be done in a timely manner. Only the administrator(s) of PTFA page is authorised to post photographs. Only photographs that appear on the main school website and those approved by school will be used. Application of this policy
By using the page of the PTFA you are accepting the terms of this policy. If you do not agree with any of the terms, please remove yourself as a ‘liker’ of the page. Availability of this policy
