Today, we are taking a moment as a Cherry Burton family to recognise World Autism Awareness Day, a day that celebrates the incredible strengths, perspectives and personalities of our autistic children and the families who love and support them.
At Cherry Burton Primary, inclusion is part of who we are. Our school community is built on kindness, understanding and the belief that every child should feel seen, valued and able to shine in their own way.
We are proud of our autistic pupils, proud of their curiosity, their honesty, their creativity, their passions and the unique ways they experience the world. We are equally proud of the families who walk alongside them with patience, love and determination.
Today is simply a reminder of what we hold true every day
that difference is something to celebrate
that every child brings something special to our school
that together, we make Cherry Burton a place where everyone belongs
Thank you for being part of a community that lifts each other up and supports every child to thrive.

Another great week for us at school. The whole school learned about our government as part of Parliament Week. This included class session debates where we respectfully listened to but then debated each others point of view. Year 3 also enjoyed a forest school session to further enrich their work on the Stone Age.

A fabulous Forest School session today to end what has been an exciting and jam packed week! Art inspired by Andy Goldsworthy.

Thank you for all your generous donations of good quality uniform / coats and shoes. I have roughly labelled them to give you an idea, but please help yourself. Please try and keep the clothes in piles so it makes it easier for others to look

UNIFORM
I have received a number of messages relating to uniform. Thank you all so much for checking and as a parent myself, I know the pressure the summer holidays can put on this particular shop.
At Cherry, we have tried for a while to get a uniform recycle scheme going and have not quite managed it. With that in mind, I would like to try again. If you have any spare, used, but usable uniform (Ducklings included) please could you drop in sealed bags under the canopy near the school office by the end of the week.
If we receive enough donations, I will aim to sort them and hang them out for collection on the last Thursday and Friday of the holidays. There will be a donation box out, but equally will be free to take.
Please be mindful of the contractors on site.
Many thanks
Mrs Joy

We had a fantastic forest school to conclude a very positive half term. Chopping and toasting fruit kebabs on the fire, testing our firelighting skills, baking and then tasting nettle crisps foraged from our grounds and making dens using our new den frames!
