Because of an internal promotion we have an exciting vacancy: Head of Conservation Services at the Bat Conservation Trust. This is great opportunity to join the UK’s leading charity devoted solely to the conservation of bats and their habitats. The role is responsible for a sub-set of the BCT Conservation Team (helpline, training and conferences, bat groups and country officers), as well as key project areas, depending on experience, including leading on bats and health, and the implementation of a new ringed bat database and guidelines.

We hope Bat Conservation Trust members have been enjoying the spring 2023 edition of Bat News. We are working on the summer edition now.

If you are not a member and would like to become one, please visit our website. It is a great way to support bat conservation and you receive Bat News three times a year (individual membership starts at £2.75 a month). Family membership (£3.50 a month) also includes The Young Batworker magazine.

It is National Gardening Week (1-7 May) in the UK and the theme is 'create your coronation container’! Remember to include plants that attract insects at night to provide food for nocturnal wildlife like bats. Pale a scented flowers are ideal for example.
