Our KS2 classes had a fantastic time this morning visiting our local beach! The children enjoyed energetic games of cricket and football, fierce but friendly sandcastle building competitions and showing off their amazing sand creations. What a brilliant way to enjoy the sunshine, get some fresh air and make some memories together!

πŸ“šπŸŒ» Final Library Visit of the Year! πŸŒ»πŸ“š

Last Friday, some of our nursery children made their final trip to the library for this school year.

A huge thank you to Diane, who has read us so many lovely stories and led us in singing our favourite nursery rhymes. The children have had such a wonderful time, and we’re so grateful for her warmth and enthusiasm each week! πŸ’™πŸŽΆπŸ“–

Diane is already looking forward to seeing everyone over the summer holidays, so don’t forget to stop by the library and take part in this year’s Summer Reading Challenge: Read to the Beat πŸ₯πŸͺ‡πŸŽΆ

It's a fantastic (and free!) way to keep your little ones loving books throughout the summer. Be sure to pop into Berwick Library to sign up!

Gaming is a huge part of many young people's lives, but some online features can blur the line between gaming and gambling in ways that aren't always obvious.

Our latest guide explains what skin betting is, why it's becoming more common, and how parents, carers and educators can help children stay safe online.

The guide covers:

β€’ What skin betting is and how it works
β€’ Why virtual in-game items can have real-world value
β€’ The risks of unregulated third-party platforms
β€’ Social pressure and influencer promotion
β€’ Warning signs to look out for
β€’ Practical steps to reduce the risks through conversations and parental controls

By understanding how skin betting works, trusted adults can spot potential risks early and help young people make safer choices online.
