Spittal Day Nursery Spittal Day Nursery provides childcare for children aged 3 months to 5 years and we also have a holiday club that runs along sidetheEnglish school holidays.

Holiday club is from age 3 and half to 9 years. Funded places available from 9 months to 5 years. Parents who are seeking a secure, friendly and happy future for their child/children need look no further than Spittal Day Nursery. We provide care for children aged 3 months to 5 years termly, and up to 9 years in the school holidays in our holiday club. We can provide places for full time and term t

ime children, and aim to accommodate shift working parents/carers the best we can. Our opening times are 8am-5.30pm Monday to Friday. We close for bank holidays and two weeks over Christmas only. Joanne Knox is the Manager of the Nursery and has been here at the nursery since January 2000, acting as Nursery Nurse, then Officer in Charge and then onto Deputy Manager before successfully purchasing the Nursery in July 2005. All the staff have the necessary qualifications, skills and experience required to work with children. The Nursery is regulated by OFSTED and complies with the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage, which sets the standards for learning, development and care for children aged birth to five.

This week in Class 2 the children have enjoyed making Streamer Wands, we talked about the different colours we would like to use. We also enjoyed playing in the water tray. We added balls, spoons and bowls to practice our motor skills. We worked together to fill the bowls with different coloured balls and water. πŸ’¦πŸ”΄πŸŸ πŸŸ’πŸ”΅πŸŸ£

Last week in Class 2, the children took part in activities using different Citrus Fruits. We used the Citrus Fruit to make prints in paint using the fruits corresponding colours. Also, in the Tuff Tray, there were slices of fruit in water, and the children were using them to make soup and squeezing the fruit for the different smells.

In Class 2 this week we have been painting our hands to make colourful Fish and Jellyfish. We talked about the different colours we were using and how it felt being painted onto our hands.
