Bucks and Herts based tutoring for Key Stage 2 children, focusing on secondary transfer tests (11+) and National Curriculum subjects (Comprehension, Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar and Maths). I am a qualified teacher (BEd Honours from University of Gloucestershire) offering group tutoring sessions from September 2024. I aim to support children to achieve their best whilst encouraging high self-

esteem. I have high expectations of every child that I teach and strive to develop self-confidence whilst supporting children using their preferred learning styles and building resilience. I build an environment which is inclusive and where children aren't afraid to have a go; doing this by creating a nurturing and supporting learning environment. I am a qualified and highly experienced primary school teacher who has been teaching for nine years. I have taught throughout Key Stage 2 and I have been head of both Year 5 and Year 6 at a large primary school. I have also been phase leader for Upper Key Stage 2 and a member of the Senior Leadership Team where I have supported and mentored members of staff and a student teacher. Through my vast experience in Year 6, I have a deep knowledge and understanding of the secondary transfer tests and the end of Key Stage 2 SATs. Over the years I have tutored children (1:1), including those with additional needs. I am currently tutoring children from Year 4 - Year 7 in both English and Maths areas. From September 2024, I will be providing small group weekly sessions in a couple of different venues in Buckinghamshire and Berkhamsted. These will be focusing on 11+ familiarisation (Year 5) and English and Maths keep up sessions for both Year 4 and Year 5.

🍂 Welcoming the Autumn Term 🍂

It's most childrens first full week back to school this week and I hope they are settling in nicely to their new year groups and classes.

With it being the start to a new year, I thought it was the perfect time to introduce myself to my new followers!

I am Olivia and I was a Key Stage 2 teacher for nine years and member of the senior leadership team before having my daughter. I have always done 1:1 tuition alongside teaching and after having my daughter, I made the decision not to go back to school but to start a small local tutoring business- which I have not regretted!

Over the last year I have ran weekly Year 5 and 6 English and Maths booster groups, tutored 1:1, ran 11+ weekly familiarisation groups and run fully booked Easter and Summer courses for the 11+. I have loved every minute! Setting my own hours around my daughter and being able to focus on getting to know and teaching small groups is just the best.

Seeing confidence develop each week, progress being made and children having fun during my sessions is what I work hard for. Children have the opportunity for independent work, group work and getting to know new children.

A very successful week of 11+ familiarisation last week for the group doing my summer course. The children worked so hard, despite the VERY hot weather on some of the days! I'm now putting the finishing touches to the activities for a new group this week.
We do a lot of focus on vocabulary- thinking about where we might have seen or heard the word before, considering the definition, putting it into context and then coming up with synonyms and antonyms for the word.
If you, or know someone who is, are looking for 11+ tutoring for a child going into Year 5 in September, I still have a couple of spaces left in my small group in Amersham on Wednesdays.

I am excited to offer English & Maths Booster Sessions for Year 3 and Year 6 pupils from September in Berkhamsted.

These small, focused groups are designed to build confidence, strengthen core skills, and help your child reach their full potential 💪 We recap prior learning, building upon it and extend and develop understanding. These groups are about children keeping up with their education, rather than catching up.

🧠 Year 3: Developing key foundations in English and Maths. Working on introducing children to the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
🚀 Year 6: Recapping learning throughout Key Stage 2, building on and extending understanding and knowledge. SATs support.
