Join us on Friday to read Grandad's Secret Giant. About unexpected friendships.

We are in need of more volunteers to keep running. If you think you have a few minutes to spare please do get in touch or come and talk to us on Friday. We would love to have you on-board.

Save these to your diary. If we have enough volunteers we will try and run over half term. Keep your eyes peeled.

Please do get in touch if you would like to help and join our lovely team of volunteers, we need YOU! As our children start school then we lose volunteers so we really need some help to keep running.

All Are Welcome to join us on Friday 28th August for stories and woodland activities! The rain may make an appearance so be sure to bring waterproofs along with picnic blankets for nature activities and a trail in the woods. Link to book in bio.

Thank you to everyone who came to Books in the Woods on Friday and special thanks to Maria Maria Oliver who read us the story Blob Fish by Olaf Falafel and led us through yoga poses alongside the story. It was a wonderful way to have fun and relax in the woods! We then created insects from leaves and sticks and went on a trail in the woods exploring the Insects of Ashridge. We're now on a short break but look forward to welcoming you back on Friday 28th August for our next session."

This Friday 24th July we’ll be joined by Maria Oliver Maria Oliver. We’ll be doing yoga poses alongside the story Blob Fish by Olaf Falafel, about a blob fish finding friendship, with a lesson about beach cleaning along the way!

We’ll also be doing nature based crafts and a trail in the woods. Bring your picnic blanket, no need for yoga mats.

Thank you for all those who joined us in the woods for a musical session! We read the Bear and the Piano by David Lichfield. We made musical instruments from junk and elastic bands, made nature weaves and bashed musical 'instruments' witn sticks hanging from the trees to see what different noises they made. Rachel from Rachael Gholap guided us through a couple of nature orientated songs to keep us grounded and fill our hearts with song.

It was a beautiful session and gloriously busy. Thanks so much, you all make books in the woods.

The next session will be this coming Friday 24th with a special guest! . Stay tuned for more info, or book your tickets in advance, Link in bio. Older children welcome.

This Friday 17th July we have an exciting musical collaboration with Singing Mamas. We will have a musical themed story, crafts and singing with the wonderful Rachel. She will lead us through a song to finish to make our day lighter and calmer. A perfect way to finish off the week!

Join us at Rectory Lane Cemetery tomorrow to read Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers. We'll be keeping cool in the shade with our woodland library, playing with some ice, and making our own books 📚 🐧

For the session to go ahead we need at least one more volunteer! If you could arrive 10 minutes early to help, please select a free "volunteer" ticket when you book. We'd love to see you there! 💚

Thank you to everyone who joined us today for Books in the Woods. We read The Boy with Flowers in His Hair by Jarvis.

We also made tissue paper flowers, decorated drawings with twigs and flowers and spotted leaves on a trail through the woods.

We’ll be back on 17th July and look forward to seeing you soon.

This Friday 3rd July please join us for Books in the Woods. We will be reading The Boy with Flowers in His Hair by Jarvis. A tale about David, a boy who happens to have flowers in his hair, and the power of friendship and creativity. There will also be activities and a trail in the woods.
