Our Osterstrauss - German Easter Tree. 🐣 I just love the little shadows the eggs cast in the evening. The little wooden decorations were bought in Germany...they know how to do decorations well.🌟

This tradition is centuries old and uses the universally known symbol of the egg as the symbol of new life. Some towns in Germany go all out and decorate trees in their area with thousands of eggs! ➡️ Swipe to see one adorned with 9200 individually hung eggs!

As a child I always looked forward to putting our Osterstrauss up with my mum and adding to the collection of painted eggs each year. I'm loving sharing these cultural traditions with my boys too.💛

Children's Mental heath Week 2022🌟

🌠 Helping your child to recognise and name their emotions
🌠 Allowing them to feel all emotions whether big or small, happy or angry, in a safe space
🌠 Modelling self-regulation
🌠 Talking together about how it's OK to feel big emotions and that's it's normal to feel a wide range of feelings!
..and it's not always easy! This is what we're striving for but often when we are tired, burn-out, frazzled it feels impossible to stay calm and regulated. I am trying to see these moments as learning opportunities to reflect on my own mental wellbeing and what I need to do to repair and reconnect.

I have been reading posts from and who have some great words of advice on how to support your kids with their mental wellbeing.💞

💫Ps, how cool would it be for to name their emotions in 2 or even 3 languages!!? 🇩🇪🇨🇵🇪🇸

How many languages can you count to 10 in (or even 5)? 🇩🇪🇨🇵🇪🇸 I can count to 10 in 3 languages, and can also count to 5 in Chinese Mandarin! 🇨🇳

NEW Spanish product alert!! These fabulous flashcards on the theme of 'Greetings' are NEW to our stock 💫⚡💫⚡💫

This is also the first set to include pronunciation guides. 🌠

On the last slide ➡️ you'll see all the letters of the Spanish alphabet, including the 4 extras ones that are often included- ch, ll, ñ and rr.

English has 44 sounds (phonemes) and Spanish has at least 39. So as you can tell, pronunciation guides are not always straight-forward, and the same characters do not always represent the same sound in both language! Of course regional dialects play a huge part too! 😁 But it's a start and will help those of you who are at the beginning of your language learning journey!😊

I've always been in two minds about it but take it as a reminder for my husband and I to make time for a date-night. February is already a busy month for us too with both our boys' and my birthday! I do love the party vibe it gives our house though! ❤💫

Only a rainy day like today calls for this much dino play!🦕🦖

We used our 🇩🇪German Colour cards to describe them and our 'In the Outdoors' set to talk about different habitats that the dinosaurs lived in.

🪴Have you used real plants or herbs in your play? It adds another element of ...smell them, taste them, scatter or crush the leaves!
