And here are some of my top tips to help you learn languages:
✨️Goal #1: Learn vocabulary
According to some studies, native speakers know roughly 20,000 word families. By learning the most common 1,000 root words, you can learn to speak a language quickly and effectively and it allows you to have basic conversations. I always send Blooket or Quizlet vocabulary links after the online sessions.
✨️Goal #2: Find a style that works for you! There are many different tools, techniques, and styles you can use when you’re learning a language. Sometimes, it can seem a little overwhelming to try and use them all. Apps and websites can be exciting, but interest is quickly lost. Try me before signing up for a course!
✨️Goal #3: Practice speaking
You don’t have to necessarily start chatting right away, however, listening actively, repeating, practising your vocabulary out loud, and even recording yourself speaking on www.vocaroo.com or www.voki.com can help to build your confidence. My group sessions deliberately have a maximum of 6 learners, to ensure that everyone can speak. All learners are constantly encouraged and the atmosphere of games and interaction brings everyone together.
✨️Goal #4: Connect with a native speaker
Say no more! I have spent 20 years teaching my language in the UK now and grew up in France. I use up to date videos and resources of young French speakers and I have connection with teachers and students all around the world.
