Fancy joining us for a Saturday SEND session?

It’s a chance for parents/carers of young people with SEND to connect, share experiences and just meet others who ‘get it’.

It’s also a chance for young people to make friends, build confidence and get outdoors and around the farm.

Email [email protected] for more information, or call 01822 258118.

Our sessions for 11-16 year olds start on 26 September, 9am - 11am at Harlings in Bere Alston.

FREE sessions thanks for funding and support from Harlings Devon and The National Lottery Community Fund.

We had a great session on Saturday making apple and blackberry crumble!

We went blackberry hunting around the farm, with a very important visit to the Shire Horses along the way! We just about escaped the rain ☔️

There was lots of learning going on - weighing and measuring ingredients, working together to make the crumble mix, and everyone made their own individual crumble.

Adopt one of our animals from £25!

When you adopt one of our animals, you’re helping us care for them, and in return, they help us care for the people who need it most.

Your support enables our CIC to continue offering therapeutic, educational and wellbeing experiences that make a real difference, every single day.

We also offer bespoke corporate animal adoption too... think goats joining your Zoom call, or a Shetland joining your Monday Teams meeting!

What is Social Prescribing?

You might have heard us talking about social prescribing, particularly alongside Green Care… but what does it actually mean?

Put simply, social prescribing helps connect people with support in their local community that can improve their health and wellbeing.

That could be getting outdoors, meeting people, becoming more active, finding a community, learning something new, volunteering or connecting with an organisation like Daniel’s Ride.

At Daniel’s Ride, someone might be connected with us through social prescribing, and the support they experience here could include Green Care, time with animals, meaningful activities, education or simply having somewhere to belong.

Social prescribing and Green Care aren’t the same thing, but they can work really well together.

We’ll pop some of the research behind social prescribing in the comments if you fancy a read.
