Little Hawks Preschool

Little Hawks Preschool Welcome to Little Hawks Pre-school home page Little Hawks Preschool is affiliated with Hawkesbury Preschool in the grounds of Canvey Infants.

We share the same Management Team and work very closely together. Little Hawks Preschool is committed to providing high quality learning experiences for each child to reach their full potential and school readiness. We provide a learning environment that supports children to develop the strengths and skills necessary for them to construct their own knowledge and prepare them for their next school

environment. Little Hawks Preschool has been running for 3 years and offers early education and care for children aged 2 - 4 years. We offer three different session times, Monday to Friday
08:45 - 11:45
12:30 - 3:30
08:45 - 3:30. Little Hawks offers children a fun and exciting environment that encourages physical, social, emotional, creative and intellectual growth. Children can travel through the magical adventure of childhood using play as their tool to learn, to grow and to understand the world around them. At Little Hawks Preschool, we will provide a well-balanced curriculum designed to meet each child ever-changing needs, moods, interests and feelings. Our curriculum includes art, music, movement, dramatic play, pre-reading and math concepts, fine and gross motor development, creative expression, socialisation skills and science discoveries. All our team are highly qualified and trained within all aspects within children care. Our Vision Statement
The Little Hawks Pre-school team hope to provide a warm and welcoming environment to all children and adults where they feel both valued and accepted as individuals. We hop to be considered as part of an extended family around the child and will always be here to listen when we are needed. We are aware that many people will face inequality at some point during their lives and we will work to ensure that this does not happen within our setting. We believe in a culture of belonging, of acceptance and of possibilities and we celebrate our differences.

Dear Parents
Welcome back to a new term and we hope you have enjoyed the summer break safely. We look forward to seeing the children from Thursday 2nd September.
Further to Boris Johnson’s latest Covid-19 guidance we would like to draw your attention to our current procedures and risk assessments to ensure the safety of the children, their families and our staff and their families. All staff members currently have two lateral flow tests each week to ensure that the setting stays as Covid free as possible. It is advisable for all parents to have weekly lateral flow tests too. Parents must continue to wear a face covering during drop off and pickup times. Staff will continue to wear face coverings during each session. We will continue to take each child and staff members temperature on entry and sanitise our hands on entry. We will continue to ask a few short questions regarding household health and travel, but please can we ask you to notify us as soon as possible if a member of your household has tested positive for Covid-19 or been abroad within the last 7 days.
Although it is stated that children can attend the pre-school without self-isolating unless they have tested positive to Covid-19 themselves, as you can appreciate this is a very difficult situation for us as very young children do not social distance and therefore this puts the other children, the staff and their families at risk. We are asking all parents who have a positive case in their household to please take your child for a PCR test before returning to pre-school. This is NOT Government guidelines, but we have to have some measures in place to keep us all as safe as we can.

Just a reminder please do not send your child to school with a temperature, a cough or severe cold or flu symptoms or if you have administered Calpol or Nurofen prior to the session starting. If a child becomes unwell displaying any of these systems during a session we will call and ask you to collect your child as we cannot differentiate between Covid-19 and other mild illnesses.
If you are planning on going on holiday either in this country or abroad, please follow current Government guidelines.
Red List Countries
You will need to self-isolate in a government recommended hotel for 10 days from the date of arrival back into this country. Your child cannot attend the pre-school during this 10-day period.
Amber List Countries
Fully vaccinated households must have a negative PCR test on or before 2nd day of your return and child cannot return to pre-school until we see evidence of negative PCR tests of adults in household.
Unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated households must self-isolate at home for 10 days and your child cannot attend the pre-school during the 10-day period.
Green List Countries
Adults in the household must have a negative PCR test on or before 2nd day of your return and child cannot return to pre-school until we see evidence of negative PCR tests of adults in household.

Thank you for your continued support. We are looking forward to a busy, fun filled autumn term.

Introducing song of the week.

every week we will upload a new song for your little ones to learn or teach to you!

our song this week is...

Tiny Turtle

I had a little turtle,

his name was Tiny Tim,

I put him in the bathtub to see if he could swim.

He drank up all my water

and he ate up all my soap

and now he's got a bubble in his throat

bubble...bubble...bubble.. POP!

After much deliberation and consideration, we have deciced to postpone the reopening of the preschool due to safety concerns and it is looking increasingly likely that this may not be until September 2020. Although we have our risk assessments in place alongside vigourus cleaning schedules, we have decided to err on the side of caution. We will be continuing to update our page with information and activities regularly. If you have any questions please contact
[email protected]
Thank you for your continued support and understanding during this difficult time.
