Dear Parents
Welcome back to a new term and we hope you have enjoyed the summer break safely. We look forward to seeing the children from Thursday 2nd September.
Further to Boris Johnson’s latest Covid-19 guidance we would like to draw your attention to our current procedures and risk assessments to ensure the safety of the children, their families and our staff and their families. All staff members currently have two lateral flow tests each week to ensure that the setting stays as Covid free as possible. It is advisable for all parents to have weekly lateral flow tests too. Parents must continue to wear a face covering during drop off and pickup times. Staff will continue to wear face coverings during each session. We will continue to take each child and staff members temperature on entry and sanitise our hands on entry. We will continue to ask a few short questions regarding household health and travel, but please can we ask you to notify us as soon as possible if a member of your household has tested positive for Covid-19 or been abroad within the last 7 days.
Although it is stated that children can attend the pre-school without self-isolating unless they have tested positive to Covid-19 themselves, as you can appreciate this is a very difficult situation for us as very young children do not social distance and therefore this puts the other children, the staff and their families at risk. We are asking all parents who have a positive case in their household to please take your child for a PCR test before returning to pre-school. This is NOT Government guidelines, but we have to have some measures in place to keep us all as safe as we can.
Just a reminder please do not send your child to school with a temperature, a cough or severe cold or flu symptoms or if you have administered Calpol or Nurofen prior to the session starting. If a child becomes unwell displaying any of these systems during a session we will call and ask you to collect your child as we cannot differentiate between Covid-19 and other mild illnesses.
If you are planning on going on holiday either in this country or abroad, please follow current Government guidelines.
Red List Countries
You will need to self-isolate in a government recommended hotel for 10 days from the date of arrival back into this country. Your child cannot attend the pre-school during this 10-day period.
Amber List Countries
Fully vaccinated households must have a negative PCR test on or before 2nd day of your return and child cannot return to pre-school until we see evidence of negative PCR tests of adults in household.
Unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated households must self-isolate at home for 10 days and your child cannot attend the pre-school during the 10-day period.
Green List Countries
Adults in the household must have a negative PCR test on or before 2nd day of your return and child cannot return to pre-school until we see evidence of negative PCR tests of adults in household.
Thank you for your continued support. We are looking forward to a busy, fun filled autumn term.
