All of our children—including our wonderful new nursery starters—have made an incredible start to the new academic year this week! 👏

In our celebration assembly this morning, the children truly showcased our core values of being Ready, Respectful, and Safe. We spent time reflecting on our goals for the year ahead, and we couldn't be prouder of their enthusiasm and positive attitudes. 🌟

🎈 The Great Balloon Wipe-Off! 🎈

Starting school is a massive milestone, and there’s one essential life skill that makes a huge difference for both teachers and kiddos: learning to wipe independently.
Today, our clever learners took on this challenge with a hands-on (and incredibly giggly) activity!

🧻 How We Practiced:

The Setup: We taped balloons to the backs of chairs to represent “bottoms” and added a dollop of shaving foam.

The Technique: The children practiced folding their toilet paper carefully (no giant, messy clumps!) and wiping until the surface was completely clean.

The Result: Lots of laughter, great focus, and some very shiny balloons!

Why balloons? This classic trick is a fantastic, pressure-free way for children to develop the spatial awareness and fine motor coordination needed for toilet independence.

🌱🪲 ECO WARRIORS IN ACTION! 🐦🍂

Our amazing Eco Warriors have been hard at work making our garden a 5-star haven for local wildlife! With the fantastic help of Mrs. Horler, the team completely refurbished our bug hotel—it is now officially open for business with tons of cozy hidey-holes and perfect places to take shelter. 🐜🏨

But that’s not all! The team also checked on the pond and set up a brand-new watering area to keep our resident nesting birds hydrated. A huge shoutout from Mrs. Pigeon and our local Sparrow family! 🕊️💦

A huge well done to all of our children from Kent’s Hill Infant Academy who competed so brilliantly at the District Sports!

The team gave their all and achieved an incredible number of medals, finishing:
🥇 1st in the Field Events
🥈 2nd in the Track Events
🥈 2nd Overall

We are so proud of every child for their determination, teamwork and fantastic sportsmanship. You represented our school brilliantly and should all be incredibly proud of yourselves.

A big thank you to BATIC and CPRSSP for organising such a fantastic event. It was wonderful to see the infant and junior children supporting and cheering each other on throughout the day – a great example of our school community at its best.

🔬 Future Scientists & Midwife Magic! 🩺

Year 2 had an absolutely incredible day continuing our Careers Week adventures! The children fully immersed themselves in the world of science and healthcare with some amazing hands-on activities. 👩‍🔬👨‍🔬

🧪 Inside the Year 2 Mini-Lab!

We transformed our classroom into a bustling science laboratory to put our practical skills to the test. The children did a fantastic job with some very advanced tasks:
Precision Measuring: Using pastettes and pipettes to carefully aliquot volumes of water. 💧
Close Inspection: Getting a closer look at the world using magnifying glasses. 🔍
Electrical Engineering: Building working circuits to successfully switch on lightbulbs! 💡
Chemistry Creators: Using Molymod kits to build 3D molecules—some real, and some highly creative hypothetical ones! 🧬

👶 A Special Guest Visitor!

We were also lucky enough to welcome one of our lovely parents into school to talk about their vital career as a midwife!

The children blew us away with how much they already knew about babies. The absolute highlight of the session? Everyone got a chance to use real midwifery equipment to listen to their own heartbeats! ❤️

🌟 Dream Big, Little Learners! 🌟

This week is Careers Week, and our school has been buzzing with future potential! 🚀

Our children looked absolutely incredible dressed up as their future selves, showcasing the jobs they want to do when they grow up. From doctors and scientists to artists and athletes, the ambition was inspiring!

The excitement didn’t stop there:

Nursery, Reception, and Year 1 had a fantastic time exploring different professions with a hands-on ‘Little City’ role-play session. 🛒🏥

Year 2 got a real taste of bravery, learning all about being a firefighter! They even got to explore a real fire engine and try out the hose! 🚒💦

We are so proud of our students and love inspiring their future aspirations. Who knows, we might have some real-life heroes in the making!

🚗 BEEP BEEP! Huge shoutout to the amazing team at the Beacon's Men’s Shed! 🛠️

We are absolutely thrilled with the incredible role-play cars they built for our outside space. The creativity and craftsmanship are top-notch, and we already know they are going to inspire hours of imaginative playtime and adventures.

Community spirit at its finest! Thank you so much for your hard work and generosity. ❤️
