Katie Wood graduated from the University of Huddersfield in 2014 with BMus(Hons), specialising in Classical Singing. As a performer, she sings Opera, Lieder, English song, French song, Italian song, Musical theatre and Early Music. She sings for weddings, funerals, care homes, WI events, parties, concerts and other special events. Katie also play the piano (most recent qualification is Grade 7 ABR
SM, working towards Grade 8 piano and Grade 6 music theory (ABRSM) at the moment). Katie is very fortunate to regularly perform at many care homes in the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire area, as well as being a full time Music Educator. She is a peripatetic teacher (Singing, Piano, Music Theory & Aural training) and a singing teacher, part of the Singing Support team for the Derby and Derbyshire Music Partnership. Katie works in many primary schools across Derby City and Derbyshire, where she delivers a range of singing projects. These range from Sing2gether projects, where she works with a number of schools who join together for a big sing performance to helping children learn English through singing to schools who have pupils whose English is a second language. As well as working with Derby and Derby Music Partnership, Katie is a member of the teaching staff at Derby Music Centre, where she runs the Junior Choir. Katie is also a member of The Incorporated Society of Musicians, AOTOS (Association of Teacher of Singing), ABCD (Association of British Choral Directors)
