Exciting times ahead at Training Advantage Group! 🚛☢️🏗️

It’s been a busy and positive couple of months for the team at TAG.

Last month, we had our new racking installed as we continue developing our dedicated Forklift & MHE Training Area, expanding the practical training facilities available to our customers.

This month, we’ve also completed a successful DGDT Provider Audit. We genuinely enjoyed the process and the opportunity to demonstrate the standards, systems and quality behind our dangerous goods training.

Alongside our established specialist ADR Tanks and Class 1 Explosives training, we’re delighted to have now received provisional approval for ADR Class 7 – Radioactive Materials, and we’re currently awaiting final approval from the DVSA before delivery begins.

And we’re not stopping there.

There are big plans ahead for Training Advantage Group, with further development across Forklift & Plant Training, HGV, PCV, Driver Training, Medicals, Transport Compliance and our wider professional training portfolio.

In November, we’ll also be renewing our DGDT Provider approval, incorporating Class 7 Radioactives as part of the next stage of our specialist ADR provision.

2027 is already shaping up to be a huge year for Training Advantage Group.

🚛 ADR DRIVERS — DID YOUR TRAINING PROVIDER TELL YOU THIS?

If you’ve completed ADR Dangerous Goods Driver Training, you may be able to have up to 14 HOURS of that training recognised towards your 35 hours of Driver CPC periodic training.

And importantly — you apply directly to DVSA for the recognition.

DVSA’s current guidance confirms that up to 14 hours of ADR training can count towards Driver CPC, subject to DVSA checking your eligibility and evidence.

So ask yourself:

Were you told about this option?

Or were you charged an additional Driver CPC surcharge for each ADR training day without being made aware that there is a DVSA recognition route?

Your previous provider may simply not have been aware of the process — but we believe drivers should be given clear information about the options available to them.

🔵🟠 THE TRAINING ADVANTAGE

At Training Advantage Group Ltd, we aim to go beyond simply delivering the course.

Our candidates receive clear information and supporting certification showing their ADR training and relevant dates, helping them make their own recognition request to DVSA.

The process is straightforward:

1. Complete the eligible ADR training.
2. Receive your supporting training evidence/certificate.
3. Email your details and evidence directly to DVSA Driver CPC.
4. DVSA assesses the request and, where eligible, records the recognised hours.

DVSA specifically states that where a driver has completed a qualifying non-Driver-CPC course, the driver emails DVSA with their details and evidence rather than the training provider uploading those hours.

UP TO 14 HOURS. NO DOUBLE TRAINING. NO UNNECESSARY SURCHARGE.

🌐 A NEW WEBSITE. A GREAT PARTNERSHIP.

We’re delighted to showcase the new Training Advantage Group Ltd website and give a well-deserved shout-out to the team at Munro Studio for the work they’ve put into bringing it together.

From the design and development through to functionality and ongoing support, they’ve taken the time to understand TAG, what we do and — importantly — what we want our customers, candidates, instructors, assessors and suppliers to be able to do online.

Our new website brings together our expanding training services, SVQs and upcoming Apprenticeships, improved learner information and resources, alongside new secure access areas for Candidates, Instructors, Assessors and Suppliers.
