We had a truly special afternoon at our Celebration of Success! From our littlest learners to our biggest, we celebrated an amazing year filled with growth and achievement. It was wonderful to recognise how our pupils have embodied our CORE values of Courage, Opportunity, Responsibility, and Expectation. Our girls have truly embraced our motto, “See what you can be,” showing just how much they can achieve. Well done to all the VCB Prep girls on a brilliant year! ✨🏆

Our third trip of the week saw Prep 5 visit the Ulster Museum as part of their studies on Ancient Egypt. The girls have loved deepening their understanding across the curriculum, and this visit brought their learning to life! From seeing the fascinating mummy of Takabuti to taking part in an engaging fact finding workshop, their enthusiasm and curiosity shone throughout the day ✨

Next up in our week of trips… Prep 6 had an amazing Mobile Team Adventure day at Shaws Bridge last Monday! 🎉 Throughout the day, they threw themselves into a range of exciting activities including team building games, laser tag, den building, slip and slide fun, water sponge challenges, and even toasting marshmallows 🔥🍡
It was a fantastic day filled with fun, teamwork, and great memories! 💪😊

Last week was all about school trips! ✨
First up, Prep 3 enjoyed a fantastic day at Mount Stewart - National Trust. They took part in a ‘Connect with History’ workshop, stepping back in time to explore life in the ‘big house’ and even dressing up as children from the past. They discovered what school was like in the Victorian era, learnt about the toys children played with long ago, and found out how the Londonderry family used to travel.
It was a wonderful day of learning, exploring, and bringing history to life! 💫

Following careful consideration and risk assessment, and in the absence of formal guidance from the Department of Education, the College will close today at 11.30am as a precaution due to anticipated road closures across the city and wider region.
If a pupil cannot travel home or be collected at 11:30am, please contact the Prep Office in advance so alternative supervision can be arranged.

Today we had an inspiring visit from author and former CBeebies presenter Gyasi Sheppy! He shared his wonderful new book ‘But Dancing is for Girls’ with our Pre-School–Prep 4 girls, encouraging them to follow what they love- no matter what! 💫
The girls had so much fun dancing, asking thoughtful questions, and engaging in the workshop. To make the day even more special, they also had the opportunity to purchase a copy of the book and get it personally signed by the author! 📚✍️

Last week, P2 were learning all about the “wh” sound. As part of this, they explored different “wh” question words through fun games and activities 🎲. They then wrote their own questions to ask Mrs Murray ✍️❓, and on Friday, they got to interview her 🎤, uncovering some top secret information 🤫🔍!

On Thursday, Prep enjoyed a special puppet show delivered by Crown Jesus Ministries. The show explored our emotions and reminded us that, while our feelings may change, Christians believe that God remains constant and never changes.
