Our P5 children thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the Roots of Empathy Programme this year. Through regular visits from a local baby and parent, pupils learned about emotions, relationships, empathy, and respect for others. The programme provided valuable opportunities for discussion and reflection, helping children to develop greater understanding, kindness, and emotional awareness. It was a rewarding experience that was enjoyed by all.

Our P7 children thoroughly enjoyed their recent visit to the Professor Fluffy Programme at Queen’s University Belfast. The experience provided a wonderful opportunity for the pupils to explore science in a fun, engaging, and hands-on way, sparking curiosity and excitement throughout the day. The children embraced every activity with enthusiasm, confidence, and excellent teamwork, representing our school superbly. It was inspiring to see their imaginations come alive as they learned from university staff in such an exciting environment, and the visit has certainly encouraged many budding young scientists for the future.

🔴 Safeguarding Alert 🔴 Viral Online Trend Causing Severe Burns to Children A new trend has emerged suggesting that children and young people should microwave squishy silicone toys. After seeing online videos claiming this makes the toys softer and more pliable, when squeezed afterwards it results in severe burns. We’re encouraging parents, carers, and staff to be aware of this trend and talk to young people about the risks of following "trends" seen online. Don't search and push the algorithms. Read the information and guidance you need in the Safer Schools App and on our website. 🔗 https://zurl.co/36yjy
