SC1 - Roundup- September 4

We have been busy developing our touch counting, independence and fine motor skills through a range of fun, hands-on activities in SC1!
The children have been practising touch counting by carefully counting objects one at a time, helping to develop their understanding of number and one-to-one correspondence.
We have also been encouraging independence throughout our classroom routines, giving the children opportunities to have a go for themselves, make choices and develop confidence in completing tasks independently.
Alongside this, our practical activities have provided lots of opportunities to strengthen those important fine motor skills — from picking up and manipulating small objects to using different tools and materials.

Year 3 Have Been Busy Gardening!
This week, the boys and girls in Year 3 enjoyed getting outdoors and getting their hands dirty during our gardening session!
We learned how to w**d the flower beds and had lots of fun using trowels and forks to carefully prepare the soil ready for planting our strawberry plants. We worked together, took turns using the gardening tools and learned how important it is to look after our school garden.
While we were busy gardening, we also discovered some fascinating insects and minibeasts hiding amongst the plants and soil. We enjoyed investigating what we found and talking about the different creatures that live in our garden.
We even spotted some different fruits and vegetables growing along the way!
It was a wonderful opportunity to learn outdoors, develop our gardening skills and explore the natural world around us. We can’t wait to watch our strawberry plants grow!

Happy Classroom Assistant Day!

Today at Wheatfield Primary School, we celebrated our amazing Classroom Assistants and took the opportunity to say a huge THANK YOU for everything they do. 🌟

Our Classroom Assistants play such an important role in school every single day. From supporting learning and encouraging independence, to offering reassurance, care, patience and a listening ear — their contribution makes a real difference to the lives of our children.

So much of what they do happens quietly behind the scenes, but we see it, we value it and we are incredibly grateful for it.

Thank you for your kindness, dedication, patience, hard work and commitment to our children and our school. You are a hugely valued part of the Wheatfield family!

Thank you for everything you do — today and every day!

Today, our classrooms assistants in school received a little thank you treat!

🎃🍂 THE WHEATFIELD PUMPKIN PATCH IS COMING! 🍂🎃

We’re so excited to announce something brand new for Wheatfield Primary School.

On Thursday 22nd October, our school will be transformed into a fantastic Pumpkin Patch, giving every pupil the chance to choose, carve and create their very own pumpkin! 🎃✨

Each class will have their own allocated session during the school day, where pupils will head to the Pumpkin Patch and get stuck into some pumpkin carving fun!

💰 £5 per pupil
💳 Payment is available through School Money.

This is the first time we’ve ever held our Wheatfield Pumpkin Patch, and we’re really looking forward to making it a fun and memorable experience for everyone! 🧡

We can’t wait to see the amazing pumpkin creations our pupils come up with! 🎃👻🍂

SC2 - Roundup - September 3
SC2 has had great fun making grass heads during our outdoor learning sessions.
The children planted their seeds and are now caring for them as they grow. They’re learning about what plants need to thrive and putting their science skills to work by measuring the grass as it gets taller. We can’t wait to see their grass heads sprout some wild hairstyles!
