WAREHOUSE OPERATIVE / RELIEF DRIVER
Belfast Docks
Monday – Friday
8am – 4:30pm

Role Description

This role will take direction from warehouse management to complete all tasks and duties allocated to our warehouse by Directors & Senior Management. To ensure they are carried out in a timely and accurate manner and to company standards. Also to provide relief driving duties as and when required, delivering products to our customer base, ensuring all driving regulations are followed

Main Duties and Responsibilities (not exhaustive and in no order)

• To be involved in the safe and efficient receipt, storage, rotation and despatch of products.
• Accurately completing paperwork relating to goods in and goods out.
• Carefully package goods which are being delivered via carrier to ensure they arrive at the customer in perfect condition.
• Using a computer to check stock levels and prepare / print labels for carrier orders.
• Using a Reach and/or Counterbalance forklift to unload / load vehicles and move stock around the warehouse.
• Using lifting and moving equipment in a safe manner.
• To represent the company in a professional, enthusiastic and positive manner.
• Provide a clean, tidy & safe working environment, adhering to Health & Safety procedures, ensuring they are understood and practiced by the team at all times.
• Keep up to date with all company information.
• Serving customers, ensuring a professional & prompt service is always maintained for our trade counter.
• Any other warehouse related duties.
• Ensure you have the correct licence to drive the type of vehicle being operated and you have a current CPC card.
• Declare any change in licence or health to management immediately.
• Conduct all pre-journey checks and report any defects on the appropriate paperwork.
• Be responsible for the security of the vehicle, remove vehicle keys and lock the cab when not occupied.
• Deliver product to an area agreed with the customer or collect product as requested by the office.
• Follow the company driving policy & ensure you drive safely and to current regulations.
• Ensure goods on your vehicle are correct, match to the paperwork, are loaded safely and securely stowed.
• Ensure your vehicle is kept clean and to company standards.

Person Specification

• LGV driving experience, min of 2 years
• Hold relevant licence & CPC card
• Able to stand for prolonged periods of time
• Must be able to lift heavy / awkward loads safely
• Clear & concise communication
• Proactive & organised
• Loading & load security experience
• Good geographical knowledge of branch area
