🎓💻 PYTHON CODING AWARDS CELEBRATION 💻🎓

A huge congratulations to our 17 IT students who recently received their Python Coding Awards through Queen’s University, delivered at Impact Training and proudly sponsored by Telefónica Tech 👏

Over the past 6 months, students completed an intensive Python Coding programme focused on:

✅ Fundamentals of Python Coding
✅ Software Development Skills
✅ Computational Thinking & Problem Solving
✅ Creative Learning & Collaboration
✅ Equity in Computing

Throughout the programme, Queen’s University mentors Michael McKey and Caolan Maguire visited Impact Training to support and inspire learners while sharing valuable insight into the latest technologies and opportunities within the IT industry 🌟

As part of the Awards Event, each graduating student was gifted a Chromebook to support their continued learning and development in coding 💻

🏆 Special congratulations to Nathan Foster, who received an Outstanding Achievement Award for his Advanced Final Project and was presented with a HP Laptop for his exceptional work.

We are incredibly proud of all our learners and grateful to Queen’s University and Telefónica Tech for supporting another successful year of digital learning opportunities at Impact Training.

Everyone put in amazing effort throughout the day, showing great teamwork, positivity, and pride in the local area. It was brilliant to see everyone working together and supporting each other to make a difference.

Huge congratulations to Ethan Millar, pictured alongside his Engineering Tutor, Michael Gargan 👏

After four years of dedication and hard work, Ethan has successfully completed his Level 2/3 Apprenticeship in Engineering, specialising in Fabrication & Welding 🔧

Working with the AVS Group at RGM Vents, Ethan has shown real commitment, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude throughout his journey — all of which have led him to this fantastic achievement.

This is a brilliant example of what perseverance and determination can accomplish 💪

Well done, Ethan — a result truly earned! 🎉

We are delighted to congratulate Summer on successfully completing her Level 3 Apprenticeship in Childcare.
Summer began her journey with us on our Skills for Life & Work programme, where she demonstrated commitment and determination from the very start. After completing the programme, she secured employment with Early Years Daycare, marking the next step in her career.
Since then, Summer has gone from strength to strength, continuing to develop her skills and confidence, and we are incredibly proud to see her complete her Level 3 qualification.
Well done, Summer – a fantastic achievement and very well deserved! 👏🌟

Annual Charity Football Match ⚽🔥

Impact students and staff came together for our annual charity event, raising much-needed funds for Autism NI 💙

The day had something for everyone — a sizzling barbecue, inflatables, “soak the staff” (always a favourite 😅), and the much-anticipated Staff vs Students football match ⚽

After weeks of confident build-up (mainly from the students 👀), the match turned into yet another humbling experience… The staff cruised to a dominant 5–0 victory 🏆, proudly keeping their unbeaten record alive and reminding everyone who really runs the place 😎

The game started cautiously, with both teams finding their feet. That was until Lewis stepped up and unleashed a 30-yard thunderbolt straight into the top corner — game on! From that moment, the students knew it might be a long afternoon 😬 Two more goals followed, and by half-time, they were looking a bit like a boxer waiting for the bell 🥊⏰ as the referee finally showed some mercy.

The second half brought more of the same, with the staff adding another two goals ⚽⚽. To be fair, the students had the woodwork — and the referee’s flag 🚩 — to thank for keeping the scoreline somewhat respectable 😅

A huge thank you again to everyone who took part and donated so generously 🙌💙 Your support made the day a massive success — even if the result didn’t quite go the students’ way 😉

We would like to also give a special mention to our student Lexi Dunwoody. She put her camera to work for the charity match and done an amazing job at it. Thank you again Lexi!🙌❤

A massive thank you to everyone who helped make our charity event happen. Impact Training were proud to facilitate the event, and we couldn’t have done it without the incredible support from Streetbeat Youth Project, Sports changes Life, Shankill Alternatives, The Pizza Company, North Belfast Area Project, and Shankill United. Your help in the lead up to the event and on the day itself means so much.

A huge shout out as well to the fantastic staff team at Impact Training for all the hard work, teamwork, and the energy you brought to the day.
