The Connolly Youth Movement is a Socialist Republican youth organisation working towards the 32 county Socialist Republic as envisaged by James Connolly.

The CYM brings together young activists from different backgrounds who are united in their opposition to the inequalities that the capitalist system creates at home and throughout the world. We organise social events, education and training workshops, activities in our communities and seek to promote young people's involvement in working class politics. The CYM takes its name from the revolutionary

Ahead of Alternative pride, the CYM received a statement of support from Le****ns and G**s Support the Miners and the Mark Ashton Trust.
Words of support for Alternative Pride from these organisations means a great deal to our movement and all involved in organising Alt Pride.
Please give it a listen.

Thank you to everyone who came to the first annual Belfast Alt Pride event yesterday! We would especially like to thank CATU, Food not Bombs and Small Trans Library Belfast for helping to organise and promote the event; and performers Conn Thornton and Fruity for putting on a great show!

Pride is a movement built by and for q***r working class people, not banks and multinations who pretend to represent us, not cops who victimise us, not reactionary so-called feminists who try to divide us.

The speakers at the event focused on this, with Tom a PhD student and former CATU activist sharing the history of G**s Against Imperialism, a radical group which linked the struggles of national liberation and q***r liberation. Andrew, better known as Tanistry, spoke about the often overlooked but always present q***r stories in Irish history.

Until Pride returns to its roots as a radical, working class movement without corporations and cops the CYM will continue to organise Alternative Pride events throughout Ireland.

The CYM stands in solidarity with the Palestinian people and support their on going struggle for liberation against israeli aggression and apartheid.

On Saturday a demonstration was held in Belfast in support of the people of Palestine, calling for the liberation of Palestinians and an end to the apartheid regime of israel.

The CYM stands with our sister organisation the PCYU in resisting the aggressions of israeli genocidal warfare.

University Marking Boycotts

Testimony from struggling Teaching Assistant makes clear that QUB have failed both students and staff.

"Staff feel continually disheartened and disappointed by the communication from management, the decision to deduct 50%, the exclusion of staff participating in or supporting MAB from exam board meetings, the misleading communications to students suggesting only 40 would be impacted and the issuing of essentially meaningless grades which undermine students hard work.
QUB continually say this is a Britain and North of Ireland wide dispute and nothing can be done locally, which just isn’t true.
Failing to issue a statement to call for negotiations when other universities did, such as Cambridge, illustrates that their claim that they aim to influence the national debate is disingenuous.
At every opportunity they have to put students and staff first"
We call for unity of students and staff, and to stand against the on going commercialisation of University institution, for fair treatment of both student and staff.

Student's are protesting at QUB at 5pm tomorrow to show solidarity with staff and to stand for fair treatment of students.

The CYM have been covering up more fascist sticker that have been put up in Belfast the past few days. The CYM continues to cover up these hateful stickers and will continue to combat fascist scum however they may reveal themselves, be it in person or hiding behind stickers.

These cowards hide behind these hateful stickers because they know they’re not welcome on our streets, and we continue to reinforce this anti fascist message.

Fascist Scum OFF OUR STREETS!!

Yesterday the Belfast Branch along side Lasair Dhearg held a demonstration against the presence of imperialists such as Bill and Hillary Clinton, and Tony Blair. They were at QUB giving. speeches celebrating the GFA although we know there is very little to celebrate.
It has been 25 Years of Getting F*ck All

There was heavy police presence blocking off access to the QUB SU and the majority of University Road, protecting imperialists from seeing those who have suffered from their rule calling for change and demanding justice.

We had speakers from Lasair Dhearg, Aindriú Mac Ruaidhrí, the Belfast Branch’s Sarah Sonner and Cuban Activist Yas Rodriguez, all explaining the imperialism of the Clintons and the short comings of the GFA.

Our message is clear

We are For the Peace, Against the process.

Today in Belfast CYM anti-fascist trans people and allies joined in the counter action against the Terf and fascist known as Posie Parker (AKA: Kellie-Jay Keen-Minshull) and Graham Lineham.

Police continually patrolled through the crowd of counter protesters filming them, asking pointless questions and trying to get people to remove their face coverings. Showing once again where their interests lie, protecting fascists and attempting to gain information to be able to harass people later on.

The counter action outnumbered the terfs greatly and drowned out their transphobic hate speech, a great turnout in solidarity shows that fascist scum are not welcome on our streets.

Terfs not welcome on our Turf!
