TWN's CEO, Norma Shearer MBE, had the privilege of being part of a panel at a recent event with EU Delegates from 22 Member States and 8 EU Institutions, and the Working Party on the UK, a body responsible for managing EU Relations with UK post Brexit.

'Reflections on the Continued Journey of Peace and Reconciliation' workshop was facilitated by Gina McIntyre, CEO of the Special EU Programmes Body - SEUPB. She was joined on the panel by Joanne Fitzpatrick & Aoife Redmond from the PeacePlayers - Northern Ireland; each shared the work which had been undertaken to date through PEACE and the work still to be done.

Huge thanks to the Irish Foreign Ministry for the invite to take part and to Emer O'Connell and Patrick McDonagh for the warm welcome.

TWN had the pleasure of hosting Tullyally Women’s Group in Belfast last week for a special That's Powerful Creative Workshop session all about inspiration, leadership, and building community.

Throughout the day the group worked on team building, creative writing, and mask making, all representing who they are and who they want to be.

Thank you to all the women for a lovely day!

That's Powerful is a part of Making Peaceful Change, a project supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB). Making Peaceful Change is delivered in partnership with The Playhouse and Inishowen Development Partnership.

This week, TWN and partners, Ulster University, Foyle Women's Information Network & Youth Work Ireland Louth held a second symposium on the topic of ‘Ending Violence Against Women & Girls’ in the Great Hall in Ulster University, Derry/Londonderry as part of the ongoing Women’s ReconciliNation Project.

The event was facilitated by Dr Jonny Byrne, Ulster University, and 3 panellists took part: Detective Constable Josie Crawford, Tracey McCardle (trauma informed youth practitioner, Youth Work Ireland) and Holly Reed (EVAWG Project Officer at FWIN). We were grateful for the over 60 women and men in attendance and the discussions on violence against men as well as women, how to engage girls and boys from a young age, engagement in schools, consent, cross-border co-operation. There were so many questions, the event even ran over time!

Thank you to our project partners and everyone in attendance, we hope to see you at the next symposium!
