Apologies for the late post folks.....
β If the weather reports are anything to go by for tomorrow, it's due to be another wonder-day so just as a heads-up, we are planning a YOLO water fight π«
Please feel free to send in a spare t-shirt etc if you wish, although the kids do dry off super-quick when it's warm! π
Camp YOLO
LIVE. LEARN. PLAY. Unforgettable multi-activity camps for kids and teens aged from 4-15, based at Pavilion Complex, Stormont Es
Unbelievably folks, that's week 4οΈβ£ of Camp YOLO Summer 2026 done and dusted! We don't know about you guys but the weeks are flying in! π€©
Our weekly post has become a bit of a 'thing' for leaders reporting all the goings-on and general wonderment and musings of our young YOLOers and week 4 was no different.....
π£ With the Belfast Fleadh in full swing at the moment, we have discovered that we have our very own emerging musician (rap star dare I say?) in our YOLO midst. Step forward 'QDawg'. π Just old enough to have learned how to spell it, not quite old enough to take bookings for events just yet but we'll be sure to keep you all posted. Look out SnoopDogg - the 'QDawg' is coming for ya...! π€
π£ Sledging in August I hear you say.......?! π€ͺπ· Oh yes, something only YOLOers will have the opportunity to experience. One camp's rubbish is a YOLOers treasure as we discovered this week. Who knew how much fun a few old tip-top boxes could be? π¦ Not much as far as we were concerned but we stand corrected! Cue a row of YOLOers standing poised on the bank with their make-shift sledges aaand....they're off! Next stop....an NI bobsleigh team??!! Hmmm, we'll get back to you on that one.
Weather looks due to pick up again this week so fingers crossed, the water fights could be back! π«
Look forward to seeing you all for week 5οΈβ£ and what it will bring!
'til tomorrow peeps......... π
Another epic week (number 3 but who's counting! π) was had by all of our YOLOers! π π€©
Not so much drama this week, but there were still a few things going down......obvs π€£π
π£ Gerry the seagull was quiet this week with very few sightings. However, we do now believe that Gerry has spread the word about how brilliant Camp YOLO is and as a result, members of both sides of his family have pitched up to chance their wing! Extra vigilance required YOLOers! ππ
We did have one incident of attempted sandwich theft but Gerry was swiftly put in his place by one of our MiniMeez, who rightly pointed out that Gerry hadn't actually paid for it.
Rumours are he managed to get a hold of one of the pot noodles from last week and the plain old sandwiches just aren't cutting this week. π
Update: Gerry has been spotted flying low over Tesco waiting for someone to come out with their meal deal! (pot noodles are now included just for info)
π£ 'Balloon-Gate' (yes...another gate!) - we've got some budding entrepreneurs amongst our YOLOers this summer. A couple of our Trans4mers put their young business hats on when they quickly realised that kids go absolutely bonkers for balloons!! A bulk buy of balloons later, they had a booming business going with balloons selling for 20p a pop! π (excuse the pun π) FYI, sales at tuckshop were notably down for the week.....kudos boys ππ
π£ We held our first talent show of Summer 2026. And we have to say the talent within the YOLO ranks is superb! From dancing, magic tricks, 60 second lego build challenge, leader impersonation, 3 min drawing skills and hula-hooping, the list goes on!! Needless to say, we were all hugely impressed and thoroughly entertained on Friday!
We go again Monday and look forward to seeing you all! π€©
Happy weekend folks! π
A wee throwback to week 1 when the sun was blazing and it was the Trans4mers having an epic time!! βοΈβοΈβοΈ
Camp YOLO waterfights are legendary π«π«π«
A fantastic week 2 of Camp YOLO was had by all - many thanks to all the kids who took part! π π ππΌ
π£ We had lots going on with children taking part in various outdoor activities including handball, unihoc, tennis, capture the flag, american football, basketball, netball and planting their very own sunflowers in their beautifully decorated pots.
π‘ The Minimeez also learned about the life cycle of a butterfly and showed us just what a creative bunch they are with some fantasically coloured spinwheels!
π’ Gerry the seagull - affectionately named by our YOLOers - made a few sneaky appearances but the children were armed and ready (with their best scary faces and flailing arms!) to shoo him off and prevent him in his perpetual attempts at pinching someones lunch! π€£π€£ This provided lots of giggles for the children and we are actually considering bringing Gerry in as a permanant leader........watch this space!
π£ Mixed in with all the fun and drama, we had......."Pot Noodle-Gate" which again offered endless guffaws for the parents this time. Who knew a little pot of dried noodles and herbs could spark such conversation and opinions! π
π Then to top the week off, the kids all enjoyed a refreshing rocket ice-lolly, kindly donated by Iceland Foods Northern Ireland Iceland Foods π§π through their summer ice-lolly giveaway for seasonal holiday camps - many thanks to their Newtownards Road store.
Hope all the kids enjoyed their week! We go again on Monday for week 3 and can't wait to see everyone! π
ps remember no pot noodles please π€£ (unless they're already cooked in a flask!)

Let's talk about........Pot Noodles!
Please, please, please don't send these in for your child's lunch ππΌ
We had about 10 kids bring these in for lunch today.
Not only do we not have the facilities to 'cook' these or staff capacity to make them, but we cannot let the children walk about with the pots with very hot food in them.
Sending them with a sandwich or wrap or whatever they would bring to school would be much appreciated.
Thanks all
CY Team
βΌοΈ Reminder folks βΌοΈ
During sign-in at drop off in the mornings, please DO NOT change your child from the group they have been placed in.
We have so many parents requesting that their children are placed with friends and we try to accommodate this as much as possible.
Once all children are signed-in, we look at where we can match friends as much as we can but for safety reasons, groups must be kept to a certain size.
Thanks
CY Team
βΌοΈ Reminder folks:
If you need to drop your child/ren off before 9am, breakfast club must be booked.
Similarly, if you are unable to collect your children at 3pm when camp finishes, late pick-up must be booked.
Thanks in advance
CY Team
Major possibility of ANOTHER water fight tomorrow folks! π«π«
Again, please feel free to send in a change of t-shirt.
The kids absolutely LOVED it today and did the job of cooling them down whilst having the most epic time! ππ
It's not the most popular activity for any old reason........to quote some of our YOLOers today....
"That was awwwwesommmme!!!" ππ€©π
