CCEA is withdrawing a small number of qualifications over the coming years as part of its regular review cycle.

This is a decision taken by CCEA, informed by evidence and focused on the best interests of Northern Ireland learners. No learner will be disadvantaged as schools can continue to offer these subjects through other awarding organisations.

I enjoy giving students writing challenges to encourage them to experiment with their craft.

The goal is for them to explore different writing techniques, such as metaphors, similes, and other literary devices.

I also want them to feel comfortable trying out new words and expanding their vocabulary within their stories.

Do you know who you are employing? The tutoring industry is not regulated. Like myself, many tutors are qualified teachers, currently working in our schools. However, I am noticing a trend of plucky, confidence young people, fresh out of school, offering their services as a tutor. 👨‍🏫 Now, if you are looking for a study-buddy for your child, these might be the right choice for you. Otherwise, ask questions. Do they have a PGCE? How long have they taught? Do they teach the subject they are tutoring in. Teacher tutors will be happy to provide whatever information you need.
