Recently I was reading 12 rules for life by one of the most influential people in my life over the past 3 years .b.peterson and came across this idea which has became what I call a “game changer” in my life, the difference between winning and growing!
Reflecting upon my own life I really began to ask myself am I winning, or am I growing, and what does that even mean to me?!
After a lot of reflection for me it means simply this.
Yes, you can be seen to be “winning” at life (whatever that means), but you might only be winning because you are a big fish in a very small pond and you know it, and being this big fish means you are comfortable and you are happy not being challenged or pushed in any way.
Or your winning because you are continuing to do something each day that is easy for you and not stretching you in any way... and both of these are totally ok! If this is working for you and you are happy living this way, then by all means keep doing what your doing.
But for me you can only become the best that you can be and live to and fulfil your full potential when you are growing, when you are continually striving to become more and be more and step outside your comfort zone and draw something outside of you that you never knew existed within you.
Perhaps your only winning WHEN your growing?! Who knows 🤷🏼♂️
All I know is that for me I have now incorporated this question into my everyday way of life, which is helping to make sure that I am trying to grow each day, if even just a little.
Maybe this question might help you to consider what direction your life is going, and whether it is helping you to maximise your full potential and be the best version of you that you can be.
My hope is that this helps even one person today.

❌ COMPLETELY different but HONEST post from me today ❌
We seem to live in a world today were judgement, condemnation and taking the moral high ground have somehow become an acceptable part of our society, and recently I’ve found myself getting needlessly caught up in a lot of it.
Literally everywhere I look today someone is pointing the finger at someone else over their opinion on wearing masks or whether or not certain political movements are supported.
What’s more, these people seem to be totally incapable of allowing other people to think differently to them and have an opposite opinion to they think.
I’ve seen people literally say that if you don’t support certain political movements then “you are part of the problem and we cannot be friends”.
Of course what they are really saying is “I can disagree with absolutely everything you say, and you have to accept it, then we can be friends, but the very minute you disagree with me, then I can criticise, condemn and point out how immoral you are (all whist highlighting how moral I am of course) for your differing opinion, then once I’ve done that i can’t be your friend”. Scary times indeed.
Here’s my advice for everyone. What about looking in the mirror first?! What about looking at the state of your own room, your own house, your own mind and making sure it’s in some sort of order first before you take the moral high ground and go around telling the rest of the society and the world how they should and shouldn’t conduct themselves? I guarantee that if you look hard enough, you will always find something to focus and improve on in your own life.
I’ve recently been redirecting my energies back into focusing my own life, my own walk, and my own journey, looking back at the person in the mirror and making sure I can honestly say I am doing everything i possibly can to make sure my own house is in order before I go around commenting on everyone else’s. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
Always remember, where your focus goes, energy flows.

Walls stop things from getting in, but they also prevent things from getting out 💯
It might be time for you to reassess which walls you have up that actually are protecting you and are necessary, but more importantly, which walls you have up that are actually the very thing holding you back and need to come down!!! 💯
For example, you may want to become more confident in social gatherings around people you don’t really know, but each time the opportunity presents itself to be in this situation, your wall comes up, you decide it would be better if you didn’t go, and then you feel protected and safe again... sound familiar? 🤔
But in reality, it’s that very wall that is preventing you from becoming the very person you want to become 💯
You are capable of becoming more than you can ever begin to imagine 💯

Good afternoon everyone 😃
Just wanted to share with you a paragraph I read over many times throughout my week. This paragraph encourages us to constantly examine initial reactions to the things that happen around us, to allow for rational and logical thinking, with the ultimate aim to avoid strong negative emotional reactions by understanding what is within our control and what is not 💯
This is 100% not easy (believe me, I know) lol, but if we can try our best each day to become more aware of our thinking and our reactions, we then at least give ourselves a better chance of remaining in control, and responding in a way that helps our well being, not hinders it 💞
