If you love hair and would rather learn by doing, our Skills for Life & Work Hairdressing programme gives you the chance to work towards qualifications AND develop real practical skills for a future career in the industry.

💇‍♀️ One day every week is dedicated to practical Hairdressing training in our training academy salons in Belfast or Lurgan, where you'll learn and practise the skills you'll need to progress in the industry. And as you develop, our Level 2 City & Guilds Diploma in Hairdressing helps prepare you for work as a junior stylist, with skills including:

✂️ Styling and finishing hair
🪮 Setting and dressing hair
🧴 Shampooing, conditioning and treating the hair and scalp
✨ Plaiting and twisting
✂️ Cutting hair using basic techniques
📞 Salon reception and customer service skills

And it doesn't stop in the training salon.

Once our learners have gained experience and built their confidence, many of our current Level 2 Hairdressing students are out on placement in local salons, gaining valuable real-world experience and putting everything they've learned into practice.
