Over the past few weeks, our Year 7 pupils have been hard at work recreating some of Europe's most iconic landmarks.

Armed with cardboard boxes, yoghurt pots, glue guns and what felt like half of East Belfast's recycling collection, our pupils worked collaboratively in teams to create some truly impressive models.

Throughout the project, the children lived out our Braniel values:

⭐ Belong - working together and supporting one another.
⭐ Respect - listening to different ideas and sharing responsibilities.
⭐ Aspire - showing creativity, resilience and ambition in every build.

The finished landmarks are outstanding and reflect the teamwork, imagination and determination shown by every group.

As for Mr Jennings and Mrs Cuthbert...they are absolutely delighted to have finally located their classroom floors again after several weeks of teaching around a life-sized cardboard Europe. 😂

Parents, please don't panic if your child arrives home carrying what appears to be a small apartment block made of cardboard. It's probably just Sagrada Família. 😆

We were delighted to welcome coach Ethan from The Irish Football Association to Braniel this week for the first session of the UEFA Playmakers programme with our Y3 & Y4 girls.

Playmakers is a fun, imaginative football experience for girls aged 5–8, blending movement, teamwork and storytelling inspired by Disney characters. It creates a safe, inclusive space where girls can build confidence, develop new skills and enjoy football with friends.

A brilliant start to the programme - well done, girls. 💙⚽️

A brilliant day for our Year 7 team at The Grand Opera House as Mrs Cuthbert and Mr Jennings represented Braniel in The School Musical Project 🎭💚

Mrs Cuthbert was in her element…theatre is her happy place, and her track record of producing fantastic Braniel shows speaks for itself. Mr Jennings, on the other hand, started the day well outside his comfort zone… but soon mastered the stage ‘geography’ and got stuck right in! 😄

This amazing project will finish with all four schools performing parts of Shrek Jr on one of the most iconic stages in the country in April - and yes, we’re already taking bets on who’s accidentally ending up in the orchestra pit!!
