Education for a fair and sustainable world: We help schools across Northern Ireland bring global learning into their classrooms.

The Global Learning Programme (GLP) aims to strengthen the capacity of schools in Northern Ireland to deliver global learning across the curriculum at Key Stage 2 and 3 through the provision of support and high quality teacher training. Centre for Global Education and Comhlámh have produced a report on a seminar they organised on 14 January 2026 on the theme "Development Education and Hope". The seminar debated the content of Issue 41 of CGE’s bi-annual journal Policy & Practice: A Development Education Review. The report carries the presentations of the speakers at the seminar - Benedict Arko, Gerard McCann and Elizabeth Meade - and a recording of the event.

This comes as 1 in 4 people don't regularly have enough to eat, and nearly half the world's population lives in poverty. Read about the Centre for Global Education's 2025 programme for Palestinian and Syrian refugee children living in three camps in Lebanon. We delivered classes for 100 post-primary children in core areas of the schools' curriculum and psychosocial support. The project was funded by NIPSA and delivered in partnership with the Women's Programs Association in Lebanon.
