In September, we were delighted to welcome Sam Payne, Managing Director of Meals & More, charity partner of Sysco Ireland, one of the funders supporting the Gets Active programme, to CiNI.

During his visit, Sam had the opportunity to meet some of our Gets Active partners and hear more about their work, the families they support and the difference the funding is making on the ground.

We would like to say a huge thank you to our funders, delivery partners, staff and volunteers for their commitment and support in making Gets Active possible. Most importantly, thank you to all the children, young people and families who took part over the summer and made the programme such a success.

We are incredibly proud of what has been achieved through Gets Active and of the partnership working behind it, helping children and young people across Northern Ireland to eat well, get active, connect with others and enjoy their school holidays 🫶

Walking on Eggshells: Non-Violent Resistant Programme

8-week online programme (2-hour sessions) to support parents and carers to achieve a calmer, violence-free home.

• Daytime and evening programmes are available
• Daytime programme starts Wednesday 21 October, 10am – 2pm
• Evening programme starts Thursday 22 October, 6pm – 8pm

These dates are open to parents and carers in both the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust and the Southern Health and Social Care Trust areas.

This meeting will focus on the issue of child poverty in Northern Ireland, with presentations and updates from the Consumer Council on their latest research 'Feeding the Family', the Department for Communities on the NI Executive Anti-Poverty Strategy, and an update from Danny Baker MLA on the Holiday Meal Payments Bill and it's progress through the Northern Ireland Assembly.

Help shape a better future for children and young people – become a member of CYPSP ✨

The Children and Young People's Strategic Partnership (CYPSP) is Northern Ireland's strategic multi-agency partnership for improving outcomes for children, young people and families. It brings together leaders from statutory, voluntary, community and faith sectors to provide shared leadership, shape strategic priorities and work collaboratively to develop and deliver the Children's Services Plan.

As the Partnership continues to evolve, there is an increasing emphasis on active participation, collective leadership and shared accountability for improving outcomes.

There are up to 18 places available for representatives from the voluntary and community sector and applications will imminently be invited from voluntary and community sector organisations wishing to become members of the Partnership for the next three-year term.

Organisations that are committed to improving outcomes for children, young people and families and believe in the value of partnership working are encouraged to consider applying.
