Fun at Funworks
Although the children weren’t able to visit the beach for their final school trip, their visit to Funworks more than made up for it. They had a fantastic morning, full of fun and excitement, and were certainly not disappointed!

Sports Day 2026
The children performed amazing during their Sports Day with Coach Ciaran from Sonal Sportz. They demonstrated excellent skills, including teamwork and turn-taking, and showed great resilience by not allowing the damp weather to affect their enthusiasm or participation.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar
The nursery children thoroughly enjoyed a sensory storytelling session based on The Very Hungry Caterpillar. A big thank you to Betty Bee and Katie Caterpillar from Make a Sound for bringing this delightful story to life for the children.

Buddy Up Fun Day
Children from Holy Cross Nursery school and Edenderry Nursery School came together for our last fun day with their buddies. They made friendship bracelets, enjoyed the bouncy castle, took part in song and dance with 'Make a Sound' and enjoyed some yummy ice cream. The children have formed great friendships. While the children were having great fun together the parents were invited to see all their beautiful portraits each child painted for their buddy. They ended the day singing their special buddy songs.Thank you to all the parents who took part in this very worthy program and to CRIS for supporting and facilitating the parent program throughout the year.

Mini Beasts
We have been learning all about mini and maxi beasts and have really enjoyed doing this through a range of fun activities including the use of Art, dough, water, soil. We even used our ICT skills to draw some of our favourite mini beasts which we were able to print out and keep.

Fun Exploring Letters
The children in Mrs Mallon's class had lots of fun exploring magnetic letters and matching letters of their name. They showed great focus and concentration while sequencing letters correctly to form their name before proudly showing it of.

Wee Bugs and Beasties
We had a fantastic visit from Wee bugs and Beasties. They brought a wide range of animals including Chinchillas, pigmy squirrels, Iguanas, snakes, rats, a blue tongue dragon, a hedgehog and a turtle. We were all so brave and took turns to pet or hold the animals. Some felt cold, some spiky, and some hard and some were soft. We were all very gentle.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Our classroom came alive with The Very Hungry caterpillar! The children combined art, maths and storytelling by creating caterpillars, exploring butterfly symmetry, and retelling the story with pictures. The highlight of the week was being able to taste all the foods from the story. The children loved the chocolate cake and fruit, but the pickles were a bit sour and not very popular.

Music Therapy
We had a fun visit with Karen from music therapy. We learnt some songs with movements about mini beasts and used coloured scarfs to make flowers and rainbows.
