Calves and sciatica kicking my butt!!

As much as yoga gives me tools I can use to relieve it, yoga also teaches me to rest, truly rest!

Whether that's good sleep, naps or mini relaxations such as breathing intentionally, shake outs or chilling in a supported pose.

We are often taught and self perpetuate to push through and keep doing. Bit of we don't stop ourselves, our bodies will.

Feeling gassy??

Or... Constipated, or the opposite? Indigestion or heartburn?

These are all common symptoms or pregnancy and very much taboo to talk about in general society.

Don't worry, you can tell your yoga teacher 😜 we are all human here!

frankly we should be less embarrassed and more open about these things. Children are!
We learn to hide anyway our imperfections.

What was your worst or most embarrassing pregnancy symptom? Hands up who's farted in yoga class?

This yoga class aims to support mother's changing bodies week by week. Some benefits include:

Toning and releasing important muscle groups, pelvic floor, abdominals and hips, vital to everyday movements and for labour

Using breathing techniques and relaxations to prepare for and to use during labour including movements for labour

Provide relief from pregnancy related pains, often times some previous to pregnancy

Promoting bonding for mum and baby and connecting with other mums

Learning, adapting to constant changes in mind and body

Building a tool set to use in everyday

Feeling empowered, confident and peaceful

is a lovely welcoming studio, with lots of props and comfort in which mums can start to envisage their own labour set ups and creating, habitualising a calm inviting space for the whole of pregnancy and their labour.

What can cause or exacerbate p***c pain??

Wide legged poses, like lunges and splits.
Walking up stairs, wide leg swinging getting out of cars and much more.

So for lots of mamas it's best to avoid these movements especially if they have a SPD flare up.

How can we support this?
Strengthening the supporting muscles and relaxing areas under strain.

I like to take a functional approach to yoga, using yoga to support the body rather than looking a certain way of compare to anyone else's body.

Pregnancy yoga isn't a one size fits all class, ( frankly no yoga class should be)

We all come in different shapes and sizes, different abilities and with pregnancy.... A whole host of differing needs, aches, pains and issues that can arise. Not to forget anxiety or fear.

You may want to focus on movement and keeping the body healthy, or focus on breathing techniques and destressing... (Mamas need lots of rest) or you want to focus more on preparing for labour.

In smaller group sizes, we can really focus on the individual needs of mums, they can connect with one another, connect with baby and have plenty of room to engage in their practice.
