We have seen an excellent response to the Fandom Junior feelers we put out last month, but we still have room for more sharp shooters to join our network on Tuesday nights.

Get in touch, let us know what you want to play, and let the gameathons begin.

Today during our Year 8 boys session we played Buckaroo! We discussed how when we keep adding baggage such as stress on to ourselves we are more likely to kick back. We also explored coping mechanisms to remove some of the stress. Great work year 8 boys!

Year 9 Lego Support completed their first creation piece on Thursday. The boys worked together building on their problem solving, communication and social skills.

We may be asked to isolate for 14 days. This social story helps us understand what that means. Please feel free to share.

Dear parents and guardians,

On the advice of the PHA and the EA, our Governors have decided to close the school on Tuesday 13 October for a deep clean.

We understand that this is a very difficult time for our students and parents but the safety of the whole school remains our priority.

Students must continue with their learning via Google Classroom. Our teaching staff will be in contact with the students they are timetabled to teach on Tuesday.

The school will reopen as normal on Wednesday 14 October 2020.

Again, I would ask that you use the comments section below this post to alert others to the announcement. We cannot respond to queries via social media so please phone or email the school tomorrow, if necessary.

Have a great bank holiday weekend, today we celebrated that first week back, Friday feeling with an ice cream. Thank you to Mrs Drennan, SENco & AP for this wonderful Friday treat!

Great results today for all our AEN students at Hazelwood. We are one very proud department! Many of them now taking the leap into the next part of their journey at Ulster University, Belfast Metropolitan College and Northern Regional College.

Sophie met with her Learning Mentor yesterday and shared that she is counting down the days until she returns to school and has been filling her time doing paint by numbers. The AEN team are very impressed!!
