I've just finished work on this beautiful Martin 4/4 concert bass for Ken Bassmann. New bridge with adjusters and Fishman Full Circle pickup. New soundpost, saddle nut and restrung with Tempera strings...oh, and new bumpers 🙂

Here at the Bass Academy we teach, play AND fix bass 🙂. This time it's a 1/2 size double bass from Gear4music which came to me needing a set up.

So...new strings, endpin, soundpost, ebony nut, reshaped (reduced) neck profile, reshaped and redressed fingerboard (hardwood, but now has the appearance of ebony) 🙂.

Barely twenty months after picking up a double bass for the first time, Bass Academy student, Jack Morrow, breezes through his ABRSM Grade 5 exam. Great result Jack and the culmination of many worthwhile practise hours.
