1 Sam Ch 15
6 When they arrived, Samuel saw Eliab and thought, ‘Surely the Lord’s anointed stands here before the Lord.’ 7 But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.’

Ps Ch 78
70 He chose David his servant
and took him from the sheep pens;
71 from tending the sheep he brought him
to be the shepherd of his people Jacob,
of Israel his inheritance.
72 And David shepherded them with integrity of heart;
with skilful hands he led them

1 Sam Ch 17
28 When Eliab, David’s eldest brother, heard him speaking with the men, he burned with anger at him and asked, ‘Why have you come down here? And with whom did you leave those few sheep in the wilderness? I know how conceited you are and how wicked your heart is; you came down only to watch the battle.’

The very attribute God said for choosing David as King of Israel was that there was something about his heart. Yet this is the very thing that his eldest brother, Eliab tries to attack and slander.

Leader……the godly attributes you carry and the reasons God chose you will be very things that will be attacked in public.

Jeremiah the prophet called by God still faced much opposition to his message and ministry.
But what kept him going?
His resilience was based around the word he was bringing.
It was like fire in his heart. Like a fire in his bones that he couldn't contain.
This was his motivation to continue.
