Mitacs - Funded Canadian Research Internships 🌍

Want to spend 12 weeks doing research in Canada next summer?

The Mitacs Globalink Research Internship is open for applications! This is an incredible, co-funded opportunity for Queen’s University Belfast undergraduate and integrated Master’s students to gain international research experience between May and October 2027.

📌 Quick Eligibility Check:
🔴Full-time Queen’s undergrad or integrated Master's student.
🔴Must have 1–3 semesters remaining on your course when you return in September 2027 (e.g., just finished Year 1 of a 3-year course, or Year 2 of a 4-year course in May 2026).
🔴Minimum weighted average of 60% (widening participation background) or 65%.
🔴Fluent in English and/or French.

What’s covered?
🔴Flights & visa fees (via reimbursement)
🔴Living expenses & accommodation allowance
🔴Canadian medical insurance
🔴Professional development & mentoring

How to Apply:

🔴Write a Cover Letter (max 400 words) explaining your interest and suitability. Note: This will be marked against strict criteria for Queen’s nomination!

We’re delighted to share that two Queen’s Careers, Employability and Skills projects have been shortlisted for the Graduate Futures Awards 2026.
Career Boost was shortlisted in the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion category for its innovative, student-informed approach to inclusive employability support by Becky Law and Ludovica Piccinini, Career Consultants.

Leveraging Student and Alumni Voices as Employability Allies for Institutional Change was shortlisted in the Student Partnership category for empowering students as co-researchers to shape future careers provision by Emma Lennox, Career Consultant.

A huge thank you to our students, alumni, colleagues and partners whose collaboration and commitment made these achievements possible.
