"My advice to any students considering a similar career path is to be curious, say yes to opportunities and don't be afraid to put yourself out there."
Fabulous careers advice from Caitlin Pendlebury, an English and Drama a Queen's University Belfast graduate, who recently scored an exclusive interview with Harry Styles in her role as a Development Producer for Blue Peter! Well done on your career achievements so far Caitlin. 👏
There's more than one direction your career can go with a degree from Queen's.
Caitlin Pendlebury, an English and Drama graduate, recently scored an exclusive interview with Harry Styles in her role as a Development Producer for Blue Peter!
Caitlin said: "Setting up this interview with Harry Styles was incredibly exciting and definitely a pinch-me moment. He's such a huge global artist so it was a real privilege to be trusted to be across it."
When asked how her QUB degree has helped her with her role at Blue Peter, Caitlin said "studying English helped to develop my writing, research and interviewing skills, while Drama gave me confidence in performing, presenting and thinking on my feet.
"My advice to any students considering a similar career path is to be curious, say yes to opportunities and don't be afraid to put yourself out there.
"Make the most of everything Queen's has to offer, whether that's student media, societies or volunteering, because those experiences help build confidence and skills.
"Don't worry if your career path isn't completely straightforward, as every experience teaches you something!"
Huge congratulations on this golden achievement Caitlin, and thanks for sharing your words of wisdom for our current students. 💫
